Seabourn Pursuit

Seabourn’s purpose-built expedition yacht carries just 264 guests to Antarctica, the Arctic and beyond, with 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, two submarines, and the all-inclusive service Seabourn is known for. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

An Ultra-Luxury Expedition Yacht for All Seven Continents

Seabourn Pursuit entered service in August 2023 as Seabourn’s second purpose-built expedition ship, a sister to Seabourn Venture. She is built to PC6 Polar Class standards, so she can head to the coldest places on earth, yet she is just as at home in the South Pacific and the Kimberley. On board, it’s classic Seabourn: all-suite, all-inclusive, with top-shelf drinks, open-seating dining and a crew Danny calls some of the best in the industry.

What sets Pursuit apart is how much of the ship is given to exploring. There are forward viewing lounges modeled on the bridge, a Discovery Center with a seat for every guest, and a Landing Zone that gets you onto the Zodiacs fast. Danny walks you through all of it, space by space. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Seabourn Pursuit Highlights

The Club on Seabourn Pursuit

The Club

The Club is an intimate lounge high on the ship, with a faux fireplace at its heart and a piano in the corner. By evening it becomes a music venue, with lounge-style acts and a relaxed feel. Top-shelf spirits, wines and champagne are included, and the bartenders are some of the best in the business. The standout is Sushi in The Club, light sushi bites made to order each evening and included in the fare.

Danny's tip: “The sushi bar is what makes this one of my favorite clubs at sea. It's included, and it's over-the-top delicious.”

Sky Bar

Step out of The Club and you reach the Sky Bar, an open-air terrace with lounge seating, tables, comfy loungers and a bar right in the middle. It’s the spot for a cool drink by day or a cocktail under the stars. Two hot tubs bracket the terrace, cantilevered out over the side with glass all around. Pursuit also has far more open viewing deck than most ships, forward, aft and along the sides.

Danny's tip: “To me, the crowning achievement up here is that pair of hot tubs hanging out over the side. Imagine sitting in one, taking in those views.”

The Spa on Seabourn Pursuit

The Spa

The Spa is the first stop for booking treatments, with a welcoming reception and duty-free retail. The salon offers shaves, haircuts and styling, plus manicure and pedicure stations with ocean views. Each locker room has a sauna with a big window looking out to sea, a welcome treat in Antarctica or the Arctic. Treatment rooms cover massages and facials, including rooms for couples, and a full gym and aerobic studio sit just aft.

Danny's tip: “I stop by the spa on the very first day to book and tour it. Sea days fill up a lot quicker than port days, and port days can bring great discounts. My personal favorite is the hot stone massage.”

Seabourn Square

Longtime Seabourn guests will know Seabourn Square, the ship’s living room. Guest Services sits here in an intimate setting, with a library wrapping around and art throughout. At its heart is a coffee bar where baristas make lattes, Americanos and cappuccinos, alongside sweet treats, sandwiches and complimentary gelato. Mobile ordering in the app lets you pick coffee up here. Just outside, a heated, covered aft terrace has seating for two to six.

Danny's tip: “I can never walk by without grabbing a few treats, and I try the gelato every day. Today my favorite is the salted caramel.”

Expedition Lounge on Seabourn Pursuit

Expedition Lounge

Danny calls the Expedition Lounge arguably one of the most beautiful spots on any cruise ship. Two fireplaces anchor a classic lounge that feels like a high-end lodge, with a full bar, an espresso machine and a high-top table for tastings. It flows right out of the Discovery Center, so guests often stop here after the evening briefing. Opposite the bar, the shop carries Seabourn logo wear, Helly Hansen gear and jewelry at duty-free prices.

Danny's tip: “After the evening talk, I head to the bar here for a martini, shaken not stirred, and whatever's left goes with me to dinner.”

Discovery Center

The Discovery Center is the heart of the expedition program, with tiered seating, a large LED screen and room for every guest at once. Each evening the Expedition Team gathers everyone here to preview the next day, which can change with the weather or a wildlife sighting, and to share talks on culture, food and animals. A high-definition camera on the ship can zoom in on wildlife and project it here and into the suites.

Danny's tip: “There's a seat for every single person in here, so you'll never miss a talk. I like to learn about tomorrow, grab a drink next door, then head on to dinner.”

The Restaurant on Seabourn Pursuit

The Restaurant

The Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with open seating, so there’s never a wait. Windows line both sides, and tables range from twos to large tables for 10 to 12, which suits Seabourn’s social style. A wide selection of wines is complimentary, with premium bottles available as an upgrade, and the sommelier can pair wines with each course. The captain’s welcome gala is held here, and The Colonnade offers a more casual option.

Danny's tip: “If you love wine, you're going to love this ship. I work with the sommelier to pair wines with each course.”

Landing Zone

Expedition cruising is about setting foot ashore, and the Landing Zone is where it happens. Every suite has its own locker here, and the ship provides gear such as kayaks, dry bags, boots and dry suits. Guests board the Zodiacs through large watertight doors on either side of the ship, then rinse off at a hose-down station on the way back in. Each suite also has a heated drying closet for wet gear.

Danny's tip: “You do need to be able to walk up and down a flight or two of stairs and step on and off a Zodiac. Come prepared, and they'll take care of the expedition gear.”
