Pike’s Waterfront Lodge
An Alaska-owned riverside hotel in Fairbanks, used for 1 or 2 nights on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean’s Fairbanks cruisetours.
Fairbanks on the Chena
Pike’s Waterfront Lodge sits right on the Chena River, a few minutes from the Fairbanks airport, with 180 hotel rooms, 28 log cabins and an art collection by Alaska artists. Celebrity and Royal Caribbean use it on several Fairbanks cruisetours, for one or two nights.
Next door, Pike’s Landing is a Fairbanks institution with a big riverside deck, and the Riverboat Discovery, included on many of these tours, docks just up the river.
Inside the stay
Rooms & cabins
Standard rooms have two queens or a king, with a microwave, mini fridge and air conditioning. Upgraded river-view rooms add balconies over the Chena, and summer log cabins have their own small decks. The cruise line assigns room types.
Dining & the saloon
The Binkley Art Gallery room hosts a summer breakfast buffet overlooking the river, and the Northern Lights Saloon pours Alaska drafts in the evening. For lunch and dinner, stroll across the lot to Pike’s Landing, famous for halibut fish and chips on the deck.
Around Fairbanks
Depending on your tour, included experiences may be the Riverboat Discovery sternwheeler, a Fairbanks city tour or Gold Dredge 8, with gold panning. Free time is good for the University of Alaska Museum of the North or an optional excursion booked with your guide.
Tours that stay here
- Celebrity 2027 and 2028 cruisetours
- Royal Caribbean 2027 and 2028 cruisetours
- How long. 1 to 2 nights here, most often 2 nights.
- Want more time here? Some tours add an extra night. Tell your advisor and we’ll find the version that fits.
Before you go
- Ship packages stay on the ship. Your ship dining and beverage packages don’t apply on the land portion of any cruisetour, so plan to pay as you go for meals and drinks at the lodge.
- Arriving early? Ask for the block. Guests who come in a day early often book Pike’s on their own and ask to be in the cruise line’s group block. Confirm your hotel with your advisor first, since lines list Fairbanks hotels as ’or similar’.
- Downtown is a drive away. The lodge is close to the airport, not downtown. Lean on your tour transfers and included tours rather than planning to walk to town.
