Celebrity Millennium

The first of Celebrity’s Millennium Class pairs a classic, easy-to-navigate layout with The Retreat Sundeck, the Persian Garden and Le Petit Chef. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

The Original Millennium Class Ship, Revolutionized

Celebrity Millennium entered service in 2000 as the lead ship of Celebrity’s four Millennium Class ships. In 2019 she went through the Celebrity Revolution, a top-to-bottom modernization that added The Retreat Sundeck and Retreat Lounge, a Rooftop Terrace, new staterooms and bathrooms, and a redesigned spa. The main restaurant, Oceanview Café, Sunset Bar and Rendezvous Lounge were all reimagined. Today she sails with Starlink internet and holds a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating.

Danny first sailed this ship in 2003, and he filmed this tour in June 2021 on one of the first cruises from North America after the long pause, so a few details have changed since. Le Petit Chef, filmed at Qsine, is now listed as its own restaurant. He starts on the top deck and The Retreat Sundeck, then walks through the Solarium, spa, Sky Lounge, Camp at Sea and the restaurants and bars below. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Celebrity Millennium Highlights

The Retreat Sundeck on Celebrity Millennium

The Retreat Sundeck

Added in the 2019 Revolution, The Retreat Sundeck sits above the pool at the front of the ship and is reserved for guests in Sky Suites and above. Hosts keep towels, sunscreen and even sunglasses on hand. Daybeds, thick-padded loungers and a whirlpool face forward over the bow, and glass wraps around about 270 degrees for scenic cruising. The upper tier has big couches and a dining area. Nearby, the repurposed Rooftop Terrace adds sectionals, daybeds and a large screen for games and movies.

Danny's tip: “Up on the second tier, you've got to try the signature Retreat Burger. They mix in shrimp cocktails throughout the cruise, too.”

Solarium & Spa Café

The adults-only Solarium is a glass-covered space designed with Alaska in mind, so it's comfortable whatever the weather outside. A large pool sits in the middle, with ergonomic bubble loungers, hydrotherapy jets in the corners and hot tubs on both sides, one with an accessible lift. Daybeds and loungers line one side. The other side holds the Spa Café and a juice bar that blends fresh juices and smoothies, alongside fruit platters, salads and other light, healthy bites.

Danny's tip: “The fresh juices are included with the Premium beverage package, and I always upgrade to Premium. I do love carbs, so the breadsticks and cookies make me happy too.”

The Spa & Persian Garden on Celebrity Millennium

The Spa & Persian Garden

The redesigned spa includes a salon for hair, manicures and pedicures, couples and single treatment rooms, and a full fitness center with Peloton bikes and treadmills facing out over the bow. At its heart is the Persian Garden thermal suite, with heated ergonomic loungers, a Turkish bath, an infrared sauna, rainfall showers and a salt therapy room. AquaClass guests get unlimited access. Treatments unique to Celebrity include a quartz and amber bed and a zero-gravity bed.

Danny's tip: “The warm, ergonomic loungers in the Persian Garden are especially good for a bad back. My personal favorite treatment is the hot stone massage.”

Sky Lounge

At the very front of the ship, the Sky Lounge has windows that wrap around the bow and raised seating that circles the front. It's mostly an evening venue, with a bandstand, a dance floor and a full bar where guests can face out to sea or toward the dancing. During the day it hosts arts and crafts and stays quiet, so it's a bright spot to read or relax. Danny's family has made lasting cruise memories in this room.

Danny's tip: “This is the perfect spot for the glaciers in Alaska. Stay inside with a hot chocolate, or maybe a little something with alcohol in it.”

Oceanview Café & Sunset Bar on Celebrity Millennium

Oceanview Café & Sunset Bar

The Oceanview Café is the complimentary casual option, with stations for Asian, Indian and Thai dishes, a carving station, nachos and fajitas, pizza cooked to order, two salad bars and a fromagerie with cured meats and cheeses. A bakery near the entrance bakes bread in view, and the ice cream station rotates flavors and toppings. Servers will even carry your tray. All the way aft, the Sunset Bar has tables, a full bar and wide-open ocean views.

Danny's tip: “On boarding day I head all the way to the back, where there's more seating. The very aft of the ship is my favorite place to be on any cruise ship.”

Sushi on Five & Cellar Masters

Sushi on Five is a specialty restaurant (extra cost) serving rolls, sushi and sashimi, with an interactive sushi bar where guests can watch the chefs and keep ordering. Next door, Cellar Masters is at heart a wine bar, with wine tastings, whiskey tastings, a full bar and comfortable high-back chairs. It stays quiet during the day, which makes it a nice place for a book. Café al Bacio and its gelateria sit nearby around the Grand Foyer.

Danny's tip: “I think I ate my entire weight in dragon rolls and rainbow rolls on this cruise. Other than the soft serve machines, Sushi on Five really is my home away from home.”

Tuscan Grille on Celebrity Millennium

Tuscan Grille

Tuscan Grille marries a steakhouse with a high-end Italian restaurant, plus seafood. Dinner starts with Italian appetizers such as bruschetta and burrata, moves through a long list of pastas, then on to steaks and seafood with a wide choice of sauces and sides. Tiramisu is a favorite to finish. Tables range from two-tops to a table for ten, and an open view into the kitchen lets guests watch the food being made. It's a specialty restaurant with an extra cost.

Danny's tip: “Start with the Italian appetizers. The burrata makes me really, really happy.”

Martini Bar & Casino

The casino has slot machines, blackjack, three-card poker, roulette and craps, plus a hand-dealt Texas Hold'em table and a full bar. Next to it, the Martini Bar has been one of the most social spots on the ship since it was added. The bar top is iced to keep drinks cold, and the bartenders pour with flair. Nearby, the Rendezvous Lounge hosts dance classes by day and live singers with a band in the evening.

Danny's tip: “The Martini Bar is my favorite bar on the ship, and that's a seat you'll find me in pretty often. In the casino, I like the hand-dealt poker table more than the machines.”

Signature Experiences on Millennium

Le Petit Chef

Projectors above each table turn your plate into a stage, where tiny animated chefs compete over each course. There are two menus during a cruise. Danny can't imagine a more fun way to have a specialty meal.

▶ See it · 25:58

Blu

Blu is reserved for AquaClass guests, with spa-inspired lighter dishes alongside the classics. Danny first dined at Blu on this very ship, and he calls it the real reason to upgrade to AquaClass.

▶ See it · 41:40

Luminae

The Retreat's private restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner à la carte for suite guests, with menus that change daily and signature dishes from Chef Daniel Boulud. Danny calls it the best restaurant on board.
