Celebrity Silhouette

Celebrity’s fourth Solstice Class ship pairs real grass at the Lawn Club with a two-level Retreat Sundeck, a peaceful Persian Garden and six specialty restaurants. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Revolutionized Solstice Class Favorite

Celebrity Silhouette entered service in July 2011 as the fourth of five Solstice Class ships, built by Meyer Werft in Germany. In 2020 she went through the Celebrity Revolution, a top-to-bottom modernization that refreshed her staterooms and suites, expanded The Retreat Sundeck to two levels, opened up the Sunset Bar and added Craft Social. The Solstice Class signatures are all still here, including a live tree in the atrium, the real grass of the Lawn Club and the ice-topped Martini Bar.

Danny filmed this tour in early 2022, right after the makeover, so a few details on board may have changed since. He starts on the pool deck and The Retreat, walks through the Lawn Club, Camp at Sea, the spa and the Oceanview Café, then heads down to the specialty restaurants, bars and main dining room. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Celebrity Silhouette Highlights

The Retreat on Celebrity Silhouette

The Retreat

The Retreat is Celebrity's ship-within-a-ship for guests in Sky Suites and above. The Revolution turned an underused sundeck and sports court into a two-level Retreat Sundeck, with a bar, shaded loungers, a large hot tub, rainforest showers, cabanas and daybeds. Retreat hosts hand out towels and sunscreen. Inside, the Retreat Lounge has a concierge team and an open bar, and Luminae serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with nightly dishes from Daniel Boulud.

Danny's tip: “My favorite spot on the Retreat Sundeck is the rocking chairs up front.”

The Lawn Club

The Lawn Club debuted on the Solstice Class, and it brings real, live grass to the top deck. Guests play bocce or lawn bowling, catch first-run movies on a big LED screen, or arrange a picnic on the grass. Private alcoves can be rented for a day or the whole cruise. At one end, the Lawn Club Grill is a specialty restaurant (extra cost) that's included in Celebrity's multi-meal specialty dining packages.

Danny's tip: “All the food at the Lawn Club Grill is good, but the appetizers are the best I've had on any cruise ship anywhere in the world.”

The Porch & Sunset Bar on Celebrity Silhouette

The Porch & Sunset Bar

Toward the back of the Lawn Club, The Porch feels like a Southern seafood restaurant on the beach, with ceiling fans and an open kitchen (extra cost). Just aft is the Sunset Bar, which the Revolution greatly expanded by trimming some of the grass and opening up the bar. Danny calls it probably the most popular venue on board on a sunny day. A stairway leads down to the Oceanview Café's aft terrace.

Danny's tip: “Make sure you grab the lobster roll at The Porch. It's my personal favorite. Then head to the Sunset Bar, my favorite location on the ship.”

Solarium & The Spa

The adults-only Solarium is a climate-controlled retreat with a large pool for laps, padded loungers, hot tubs with ocean views and the Spa Café and juice bar. The Spa next door has a salon, barber shop and treatment rooms. Its Persian Garden thermal suite adds heated stone loungers, an herbal steam room, rainforest showers and an aromatic room. AquaClass guests get thermal suite access for the whole cruise, and the locker-room saunas are complimentary.

Danny's tip: “You'll often find me on the heated stone loungers in the Persian Garden. They take the pressure off my bad back. My all-time favorite treatment is the hot stones massage.”

Oceanview Café on Celebrity Silhouette

Oceanview Café

The Oceanview Café is the complimentary casual option, and every seat has an ocean view. Stations change daily, with a fromagerie, Indian dishes, Asian and Mexican stations, a grill, made-to-order eggs at breakfast and fresh pizza that stays open a little later. Scoops serves ice cream, and the beverage stations offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate and infused waters. Out back, a big aft-facing terrace sits right below the Sunset Bar.

Danny's tip: “For a quick breakfast, I grab a couple of things from the egg station and head out to the back terrace. It's my favorite view on the entire ship.”

Sushi on Five

Sushi on Five is a specialty restaurant (extra cost) with a sushi bar, fresh fish on display and Japanese dishes beyond sushi. Seating ranges from booths to tables for two or four, and staff can push tables together for groups. It's included in Celebrity's specialty dining packages. Nearby on the same deck, Café al Bacio pours lattes and cappuccinos with complimentary cookies, and the gelateria serves gelato for an extra cost.

Danny's tip: “Sushi on Five is my home away from home. Sometimes I'll stop in just for an appetizer before dinner, or later in the evening.”

Murano & Tuscan Grille on Celebrity Silhouette

Murano & Tuscan Grille

Murano is the most elegant restaurant on board, serving classic French cuisine with Mediterranean touches under chandeliers. It also hosts the Chef's Table, with a menu created in collaboration with Daniel Boulud and wine pairings; book it early. At the back of the ship, Tuscan Grille combines an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse, with handmade pastas, steaks and seafood. Guests enter through a wine-barrel entryway. Both are specialty restaurants with an extra cost.

Danny's tip: “At Tuscan Grille, I always go for the bone-in ribeye, and the carbonara is my all-time favorite.”

Craft Social

Craft Social arrived with the Revolution and works as a neighborhood pub and the ship's sports bar. Celebrity lists over 40 boutique beers, plus creative cocktails, wines and whiskey flights at tasting tables. Each nook has its own TV for the big game. The bar menu (extra cost) covers comfort food like Kobe beef sliders, mac n' brie and crispy glazed wings. The ice-topped Martini Bar sits right across the way.

Danny's tip: “My favorites at Craft Social are the Kobe beef sliders, the mac and brie and the crispy glazed wings. I think I ate my weight in wings last time.”

Signature Experiences on Silhouette

The Hideaway

Tucked just below the library, The Hideaway is a quiet lounge with cozy nest seats on two levels and an espresso maker. It looks out at the live tree in the atrium, a Solstice Class signature.

▶ See it · 20:58

Le Petit Chef

Projectors turn your table into a stage, and tiny animated chefs from Spain, Japan, France and Italy compete right on your plate before each real course arrives. There are at least two menus, so you can go back.

▶ See it · 32:02

Martini Bar & Crush

Danny calls the ice-topped Martini Bar the most popular venue on board. The mixologists add a little flair, and the concept was such a hit that Celebrity added it to other ships too.
