Celebrity Summit

Celebrity’s revolutionized Millennium Class ship pairs a midsize, easy-to-navigate layout with The Retreat Sundeck, a wraparound Sky Lounge and Le Petit Chef. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Classic Millennium Class Ship, Made New

Celebrity Summit entered service in 2001 as the third of four Millennium Class ships. In 2019 she became the first ship to go through the Celebrity Revolution, a top-to-bottom modernization that added The Retreat Sundeck and Retreat Lounge, new staterooms and bathrooms, and a redesigned spa. The main restaurant, Oceanview Café, Sunset Bar and Rendezvous Lounge were all reimagined, and today she sails with Starlink high-speed internet.

Danny has sailed the Millennium Class with three generations of his family, and this ship brings those memories right back. He filmed this tour in early 2022, so a few details on board may have changed since. He starts on the pool deck and The Retreat, then walks through the Solarium, Camp at Sea, the Sky Lounge, the spa and the restaurants and bars below. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Celebrity Summit Highlights

Pool Deck & Mast Grill on Celebrity Summit

Pool Deck & Mast Grill

The renovated pool deck has a larger pool aft and a smaller pool forward, four hot tubs and loungers that face both the pool and the ocean. A bandstand hosts live bands and even a silent disco, and there are pool games like cornhole and chipping contests. Two pool bars keep drinks coming. The Mast Grill serves classic hot dogs and burgers with all the toppings, from grilled onions and mushrooms to sauerkraut and bacon.

Danny's tip: “We really enjoyed the silent disco on the pool deck. And at the grill, I love that bacon.”

The Retreat Sundeck

The Retreat Sundeck was added in the Revolution for guests in Sky Suites and above. Hosts hand out towels and sunscreen. The lower level has clamshell daybeds, first-come, first-served cabanas and forward-facing loungers with a hot tub, so the views over the bow are great for glaciers, fjords or a little Mediterranean sun. Upstairs is a lounge and dining area with a limited menu. The Retreat Lounge and Luminae restaurant complete the suite experience.

Danny's tip: “Up on the upper level of the Retreat Sundeck, I really recommend that you check out the burger.”

Solarium & Spa Café on Celebrity Summit

Solarium & Spa Café

The adults-only Solarium is climate controlled, so it stays warm in Alaska and cool in the tropics. It has a large pool in the middle, two hot tubs, lounge chairs facing out to sea and a high ceiling that lets in plenty of light. It's part of Celebrity's wellness focus. Tucked behind it, the Spa Café and Juice Bar makes fresh smoothies and juices and serves light, healthy spa cuisine for breakfast and lunch.

Danny's tip: “I start my day every single morning on Celebrity at the Spa Café, grabbing a fresh juice.”

Sky Lounge

At the very top front of the ship, the Sky Lounge has wraparound windows and ocean views, which makes it a favorite for scenic cruising through the glaciers. By day it's a quiet place for games and lectures. In the evening it turns into an entertainment space with a full band, a dance floor and shows such as magic acts. A large bar at the front serves the whole room. Danny's family has made many cruise memories here.

Danny's tip: “My wife loves to use the Sky Lounge as her sewing room during the day, because of all the natural light.”

Oceanview Café & Sunset Bar on Celebrity Summit

Oceanview Café & Sunset Bar

The Oceanview Café is the complimentary casual option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Separate stations include Indian dishes, a full salad bar, an egg station, an Italian station with pizza that stays open late, daily fruit and plenty of desserts. Complimentary ice cream comes with a long list of toppings, plus a cookie station. All the way aft, the Sunset Bar has full bar service and wide-open ocean views.

Danny's tip: “Boarding day is busy in the café, so I always head to the very aft. The Sunset Bar is my favorite on every one of Celebrity's ships.”

The Spa & Persian Garden

The redesigned spa has a salon for hair, manicures and pedicures, couples and single treatment rooms, and a medi-spa. At its center is the Persian Garden thermal suite, with heated ergonomic stone loungers, a hammam steam room, an infrared sauna, rainfall showers and a salt room with Himalayan salt walls. AquaClass guests get thermal suite access for the whole cruise, and other guests can buy a pass. The fitness center even has Pelotons.

Danny's tip: “I really like the heated stone loungers in the Persian Garden. They help with the lower back. My all-time favorite treatment is the hot stone massage.”

Sushi on Five & Cellar Masters on Celebrity Summit

Sushi on Five & Cellar Masters

Sushi on Five is a specialty restaurant (extra cost) where sushi chefs craft sushi, sashimi and rolls in view of the dining room, with an expanded Japanese menu beyond sushi. Seating ranges from tables for two or four to booths. Next door, Cellar Masters combines a wine bar, a tasting table and a lounge, and Celebrity says guests there can sample sushi from Sushi on Five. Café al Bacio and the gelateria are nearby on deck 5.

Danny's tip: “Sushi is my happy place at home and on board, and Sushi on Five always delivers. I think I ate there almost every day on my last cruise.”

▶ Watch in Danny's tour · 25:11

Tuscan Grille

Tuscan Grille combines an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse, with handmade pastas, steaks and seafood. A window looks into the kitchen, so guests can watch the pasta being made and the steaks on the grill. Tables in the back suit larger groups and celebrations, and there are tables for two or four. It's a specialty restaurant with an extra cost. The main restaurant, two decks tall at the back of the ship, covers the classic dining experience.

Danny's tip: “I'm a ribeye guy myself, and it's got to be bone-in.”

Signature Experiences on Summit

Le Petit Chef

Projectors on the ceiling turn your table into a stage, and a competition of tiny animated chefs plays out right on your plate. It's a specialty restaurant, and Danny says to book it as soon as you board.

Blu

Blu is reserved for AquaClass guests, with breakfast and dinner every day and an à la carte menu of spa-inspired dishes and classics. Danny's first meal at Blu was on this very ship.

▶ See it · 25:41

Martini Bar

Danny's favorite bar on board. The bar top is made of ice to keep your martini cold, and the bartenders add a little flair. It's one of the most social spots on the ship.
