Built for Alaska, Refreshed in 2025
Norwegian Bliss entered service in April 2018 as the third ship of the Breakaway Plus Class, a sister to Norwegian Escape, Joy and Encore. She was designed with Alaska in mind, with a forward Observation Lounge and an outdoor Waterfront made for scenery. Her 2025 refresh turned the old laser tag arena into Horizon Park, added Palomar, doubled the size of Cagney’s, grew Teppanyaki to 16 tables and made the American Diner complimentary.
Danny calls Bliss his home away from home, and his family has sailed her in Alaska, the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. He filmed this tour in spring 2025, walking from the pool deck, the Speedway and The Haven down through the spa, the Waterfront, the theater and the kids’ clubs. Pool Deck & Water Slides
The main pool deck has a main pool geared to adults, a separate pool for families and a kids' splash pad, with loungers, shaded seating and a massive LED screen for games, first-run movies and the glow party. One level up are more loungers and a walking track that wraps around the deck. Two complimentary slides sit above it all: a tube slide you can ride solo or tandem, and the Ocean Loops drop slide, which swings out over the side of the ship.
Bliss Speedway
When Bliss debuted in 2018, her go-kart track was a big hit, and guests still love it today. The Bliss Speedway runs over two levels, with plenty of bends and turns, and you can drive a solo or a tandem kart. The track costs extra. Tucked just behind it is a complimentary mini golf course, and nearby, the extra-cost Vibe Beach Club gives adults a quieter retreat with its own bar, loungers and hot tub. Danny's advice for Vibe: book early.

The Haven
The Haven is Norwegian's ship-within-a-ship for suite guests, behind a keycard-only door. A concierge handles specialty dining, shore excursions and more. The Haven Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, indoors or out, and Danny thinks it's the best ship-within-a-ship restaurant in the industry. The Haven Courtyard has a pool and hot tub under a retractable glass roof. Up top are the Haven Sun Deck for guests 16 and up, and the Horizon Lounge, with complimentary espresso and light bites.
Mandara Spa & Thermal Suite
The Mandara Spa offers a traditional barber shop with built-in TVs, a full salon, manicure and pedicure stations, IV therapy, and massages, facials and couples treatments. The Thermal Suite is the highlight, with heated stone loungers facing out the front of the ship, a large hydrotherapy pool, a snow grotto, a salt room, a steam room, a sauna and a sanarium. Thermal Suite access is sold by the day or for the full cruise, and the cruise-long pass is the most popular.

Observation Lounge
Bliss was built with Alaska in mind, and the Observation Lounge on Deck 15 shows it. Forward-facing loungers, couches and chairs look straight out the front of the ship, and the seating wraps around both sides for views out the windows. There's a full bar, light bites from breakfast through dinner, and plenty of room to grab a book or play games with friends. Nearby, the Studio Lounge gives solo travelers in the studios their own space, with coffee and social gatherings.
The Waterfront & Cagney's
The Waterfront brings the ocean closer, with indoor and outdoor seating for bars and restaurants along the side of the ship. La Cucina now has heaters on its outdoor terrace for Alaska. Nearby are the Cavern Club's Beatles shows, Maltings Whiskey Bar, the Sugarcane Mojito Bar with live music every evening, and Palomar. Cagney's Steakhouse, the most popular specialty restaurant on board, doubled in size and now wraps around the aft of the ship, with outdoor tables too.

Teppanyaki
Teppanyaki is dinner and a show: a classic hibachi experience where the chef cooks at your table and keeps the whole group entertained. It recently expanded into the space that used to be the Coco's sweets bar, and now has 16 tables, because it is so popular. You can book a table for two or four, or bring your whole group. It's one of Norwegian's signature specialty restaurants, so it costs extra or uses a specialty dining package.
Theater, Casino & Nightlife
The Bliss Theater hosts Broadway-style production shows, and when Danny filmed, the headline show was Jersey Boys. Guest entertainers fill other nights, from comedians to magicians. The casino has a full range of table games and machines, a high-limit room, and a main floor that is smoke-free, with an enclosed smoking section. Next door, the Skyline Bar mixes old-school Vegas with keno and poker machines built into the bar. The Social hosts comedy, then turns into a nightclub.

New on Bliss Since Her 2025 Refresh
Horizon Park
A family-friendly top-deck hangout that replaced the old laser tag arena in 2025. It has lawn games like giant Jenga and cornhole, tables and chairs for a relaxing drink, and loungers under cabana-style shade.

The seafood-forward Mediterranean restaurant that debuted on Norwegian Prima, now on Bliss, with steaks too and outdoor seating along the Waterfront. It's one of the smaller specialty restaurants and fills up, so Danny says to pre-book.

Norwegian's original steakhouse doubled in size and now wraps around the entire aft of the ship, with an open kitchen, the A-List Bar at the entrance, and outdoor tables on both sides.
