Norwegian Pearl

Norwegian’s mid-size Jewel Class ship pairs one of the line’s first Haven courtyards with a four-lane bowling alley, the Bar City trio of lounges and a deep lineup of specialty restaurants. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Mid-Size Ship With Room to Play

Norwegian Pearl entered service in late 2006 as the third of Norwegian’s four Jewel Class ships. She carries about 2,300 guests, so she feels easier to get around than the line’s newest ships. Highlights include The Haven courtyard, one of the first Norwegian ever built, two Garden Villas, a full sports court and rock wall, Bar City and a four-lane bowling alley inside Bliss Ultra Lounge. A 2025 refurbishment added Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only sun deck.

Danny filmed this tour in 2024 while the ship was docked in Miami, walking from the pool deck, sports court and The Haven through the specialty restaurants, the Mandara Spa and Thermal Suite, the atrium, Bliss and Bar City to the main dining rooms. Vibe Beach Club opened after filming, and the 24-hour pub is now listed as O’Sheehan’s. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Norwegian Pearl Highlights

Pool Deck on Norwegian Pearl

Pool Deck

The main pool deck has two large pools, four hot tubs and loungers both in the sun and tucked into the shade. A pool grill and buffet line serve casual bites, with one bar at the pool and another just behind it. A jogging track wraps around above, and the stage, lights and sound make this the spot for deck parties. Since filming, Vibe Beach Club has added an adults-only retreat on Deck 14.

Danny's tip: “I like the jogging track up here because it wraps all the way around, and it's away from most of the sun deck space.”

Sports Court & Climbing Wall

Up top, the sports court can be set up for tennis, pickleball, basketball or soccer, with grandstand seating for anyone who would rather watch. The complimentary rock wall sits at the very top aft of the ship, and a golf cage nearby lets guests work on their swing before a round in port. Danny grew up playing three on three on cruise ship courts with his family, and he still makes time for free throws here.

Danny's tip: “The rock wall is complimentary and it's a great way to get some exercise. Race your siblings, I always win against my brother.”

The Haven on Norwegian Pearl

The Haven

The Haven Courtyard on Pearl was one of the first Haven complexes Norwegian ever built, and it is open only to guests in Haven suites. It has a small pool, a hot tub, steam rooms on either side, a large daybed and tables for continental breakfast and light bites through the day. Upstairs, the private Haven sun deck adds loungers, drink service and first-come, first-served cabanas, all complimentary for Haven guests.

Danny's tip: “On this ship, suites with an S designation and Haven suites with an H are different, so make sure you check the difference before you book. Both get breakfast and lunch at Cagney's.”

Cagney's & Moderno

Cagney's Steakhouse is one of Norwegian's original specialty concepts, serving steaks like ribeye and filet with appetizers such as jumbo shrimp. It is open for dinner every night, and Haven and S-category suite guests also eat breakfast and lunch here. Next door, Moderno Churrascaria brings skewered meats to the table on a red-light, green-light system, with a salad bar of small plates and the Sugarcane Mojito Bar out front.

Danny's tip: “It's always going to be the ribeye for me, with all that marbling. And at Moderno, keep that green light up. I've never seen the red at my table.”

Spinnaker Lounge on Norwegian Pearl

Spinnaker Lounge

Perched at the very top and front of the ship like a crown, the Spinnaker Lounge has windows that wrap around 180 degrees, a stage for live music, a large dance floor and stadium-style seating stepping up around it. By day it is a bright, quiet spot to watch the scenery. Later it turns into a lively lounge. Tucked nearby is a small chapel for weddings, services or a quiet moment that many guests never find.

Danny's tip: “If you're cruising one of the scenic parts of our world, this is a great place to be. Late in the evening, this is where you'll find my wife and me having a dance and a drink.”

Mandara Spa & Thermal Suite

The Mandara Spa offers massages from hot stone to deep tissue, facials and wraps, plus a salon, a barbershop, manicures, pedicures and teeth whitening. The Thermal Suite is a paid upgrade. Each locker room has its own steam room, cold plunge, small hot tub and a sauna with forward-facing views, and the unisex area adds heated stone loungers, experience showers and a thalassotherapy pool looking out over the bow.

Danny's tip: “I always recommend stopping by on the very first day to book treatments. I've had a bad back for quite a while, so the heated stone loungers are my favorite after a long shore excursion.”

Lotus Garden, Sushi & Teppanyaki on Norwegian Pearl

Lotus Garden, Sushi & Teppanyaki

Lotus Garden combines three choices in one area. The sushi bar serves rolls, sushi and sashimi, the Asian fusion restaurant draws on Chinese, Japanese and Thai cooking, and Teppanyaki is dinner and a show, with chefs cooking steak, shrimp, fried rice and vegetables on the grill in front of guests. Teppanyaki is lively and full of singing, which makes it a favorite with families, and it is the most popular restaurant on board.

Danny's tip: “Teppanyaki is by far the most popular option on board, so you definitely want to pre-book it. I usually get the steak and shrimp, and my kids love it the most.”

Bar City

Bar City links three bars in one stretch. Maltings Beer & Whiskey Bar hosts tastings and has beer on tap. Shakers Martini & Cocktail Bar mixes classic martinis, with bar seating, lounge chairs and a bandstand at the far end. Magnum's Champagne Bar pours champagne, prosecco and sparkling rosé, including some covered by the drink package. The humidor Cigar Lounge sits just next door for a cognac or whiskey.

Danny's tip: “Bar City is a great place to come before or after dinner, grab a drink, relax and enjoy some music. At Shakers, it's always shaken, not stirred.”

Signature Experiences on Pearl

Bowling in Bliss Ultra Lounge

Inside Bliss Ultra Lounge, the ship's nightclub, four full regulation bowling lanes sit right next to the bar. Danny calls the alley incredibly unique and loved it as soon as it came out.

The Great Outdoors

Behind the Garden Cafe, The Great Outdoors adds a buffet line, a full bar and tables right along the stern. Danny's favorite seats face the wake, the same view he loves from aft-facing rooms.

O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill

This diner-style pub serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late-night menu at no extra cost, usually from early morning until about 3 a.m. Booths and tables overlook the atrium and its big screen.
