Norwegian Sky

Norwegian Sky sailed for Norwegian Cruise Line from 1999 until September 2026 as a classic mid-size ship with a wraparound promenade, Cagney’s Steakhouse and a sushi bar tucked into the Pinnacle Lounge. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see the ship and her staterooms as they were.

A Classic Liner With Freestyle Touches

Norwegian Sky entered service in August 1999. She began life as an unfinished hull ordered by Costa, and Norwegian completed her as its own ship, followed by her sister Norwegian Sun in 2001. She carries about 2,000 guests, which gives her the feel of a classic liner, with a promenade deck that wraps all the way around, an atrium full of natural light, and Norwegian’s freestyle dining. Her final Norwegian voyage ended on September 9, 2026, and she is joining India’s Cordelia Cruises as Cordelia Sky.

Danny sailed Norwegian Sky years ago and came back for this tour, which premiered in June 2024, blown away by her renovations. He walks from the pool deck and the Garden Cafe through Cagney’s, the Pinnacle Lounge, the Spinnaker Lounge, the spa and the kids’ clubs, then down to the atrium, the theater and the dining rooms. Because her layout matches her sister Norwegian Sun, it is still a helpful look at the Sun Class. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Norwegian Sky Highlights

Pool Deck on Norwegian Sky

Pool Deck

The main pool deck has two large pools with four hot tubs in the middle, a stage for the DJ and a Caribbean band, and a pool bar serving both the upper and lower decks. The sun deck above wraps around the front of the ship, with Champs bar and spots in sun or shade. Up top and forward there is a separate family pool with a kids' pool and hot tub, plus a sports court and a golf driving range.

Danny's tip: “For me, nothing says vacation like some wonderful Caribbean music while we sail out to sea, so I like to be up on the pool deck for sail away.”

Garden Cafe & The Great Outdoors

The Garden Cafe is the casual buffet, with made-to-order pasta, a panini press, a salad bar, rotating hot entrees, a breakfast station for eggs, pancakes and waffles, and complimentary soft-serve and drink stations. All the way aft, The Great Outdoors adds its own buffet with Indian dishes, burgers and hot dogs, a full bar, and tables under a large tent or along the stern. Next door, The Local Bar & Grill serves until the early morning.

Danny's tip: “All the way aft is my favorite place to be. In the scenic cruising areas it's magnificent, and I love to sit out there any time of day.”

Cagney's & the Pinnacle Lounge on Norwegian Sky

Cagney's & the Pinnacle Lounge

Cagney's Steakhouse is one of Norwegian's original specialty restaurants, named for Jimmy Cagney, with premium cuts, starters and seafood every evening. Suite guests also have breakfast and lunch there every day, one of the best reasons to book a suite on Sky. Right next door, the Pinnacle Lounge has a big bar and plenty of lounge seating, plus a full sushi bar (extra cost) for rolls, sushi and sashimi before or after dinner.

Danny's tip: “At Cagney's I'm always going for the ribeye. The Pinnacle Lounge is my favorite lounge on the ship because of that sushi bar. Having sushi on board makes me pretty happy.”

Spinnaker Lounge

The Spinnaker Lounge sits all the way forward at the top of the ship, with floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping around the bow. In the evening it comes alive with a piano, a full bandstand, a dance floor and live music. During the day it is a bright, calm spot to read or watch the sea, with activities throughout the day. It also has its own forward observation deck for fresh air and photos.

Danny's tip: “When we're cruising through the more exotic parts of the world, I step out on the forward observation deck for the views and photos, then come back in for a cocktail.”

Mandara Spa on Norwegian Sky

Mandara Spa

The Mandara Spa offers massages, facials and body wraps, including treatment rooms for couples, along with a salon for hair, manicures and pedicures. The men's and women's locker rooms each have a steam room and sauna, so guests can go back and forth between them. Next door, the Pulse Fitness Center has treadmills facing the ocean, bikes, weights and circuit machines, plus classes from yoga to spinning and personal training.

Danny's tip: “Stop by on the first day to book your appointments and take a tour. Watch for port day specials, and my personal favorite is the hot stone massage.”

Bliss & the Sugarcane Mojito Bar

The Bliss Ultra Lounge is the ship's nightlife spot, with lounge seating, a stage, a full dance floor and lighting, and a bar that runs the entire length of the room. During the day it hosts activities like trivia. For something more laid-back, the Sugarcane Mojito Bar has a Caribbean feel and a full bar, and it is the place on board for a fresh mojito. The theater, with stadium seating and a balcony, stages Broadway-style shows included in the fare.

Danny's tip: “For a delicious, refreshing mojito I head to the Sugarcane Mojito Bar. I find some of the best bartenders in the business right there.”

Atrium & Casino on Norwegian Sky

Atrium & Casino

The atrium rises several decks under a large skylight, with glass elevators on either side. At its base are guest services, the restaurant reservations desk and the shore excursions desk. The Atrium Bar has seating along the windows and live piano music later in the day. Nearby, the casino has slots and table games including blackjack, roulette, craps and poker, and the ship also has duty-free shops and a Starbucks.

Danny's tip: “If dining times are a priority, stop by the reservations desk first, because they always hold some dining for onboard booking. In the casino, my favorite is hand-dealt Texas Hold'em.”

Le Bistro

Le Bistro is one of the fan favorites among the specialty restaurants, with a classic French menu that runs from escargot to beef tenderloin, duck and lobster thermidor. It sits along the side of the ship, with booths and tables for two lining the windows, so there's not a bad seat in the house. Wine and champagne pairings round out the meal. Crossings and Palace are the complimentary main dining rooms, with the same menu.

Danny's tip: “If you move up in the Latitudes program, you can get a complimentary dinner here. My wife and I just enjoyed that on board, and it was absolutely delicious.”

Norwegian's Italian restaurant serves antipasti, pastas and mains, and the tiramisu is a must to finish. At lunch it doubles as Garden Cafe overflow with pizza and wraps. Reserve early, because it's popular.
