The Ship That Changed the Industry, Refreshed for Today

Oceania Marina entered service in 2011 as the first of Oceania’s O-Class ships, and she was named in Miami by Mary Hart. She carries about 1,250 guests, and her design brought the line’s small-ship style to a larger, more spacious ship. Marina keeps the Oceania favorites, including Polo Grill, Toscana, Red Ginger, Jacques and the Terrace Café. A 2024 refurbishment added Aquamar Kitchen and expanded the pool deck with an ice cream bar and evening pizzas.

Danny says Marina has delivered time and time again for years and is in the best shape of her life after the refresh. He filmed her from the pool deck and sports deck to the spa, the Culinary Center, the lounges and the restaurants. Oceania Marina Highlights

Pool Deck & Waves Grill on Oceania Marina

Pool Deck & Waves Grill

Marina's main pool is big enough for laps, with a couple of hot tubs, padded loungers in sun and shade, and day beds facing the water. Waves Grill is the Oceania classic on the pool deck, serving a Wagyu burger, surf and turf, sandwiches and fish. It was recently expanded, and in the evening it becomes a trattoria of sorts with pizzas and buffalo mozzarella. Nearby, a juice bar and an expanded ice cream bar round things out.

Danny's tip: “The pool is actually big enough to do laps, especially in the morning or later in the evening when there are fewer people around.”

Polo Grill & Privée

On Oceania, the specialty restaurants are included for all guests, and higher suite categories get priority access and more reservations. Polo Grill is the classic steakhouse, with an expansive menu of steaks, surf and turf with filet mignon and a whole Maine lobster tail, plus appetizers, soups and salads. Aft, set between the specialty restaurants, Privée hosts an exclusive dinner with wine or champagne pairings. It is highly sought after, so plan ahead.

Danny's tip: “At Polo Grill, for me it's always the ribeye. For Privée, sign up ahead of time; you can even book it before you arrive on the cruise.”

Library & Baristas on Oceania Marina

Library & Baristas

Oceania leans into the classic cruise experiences guests love, and Marina has a true library with a curated collection of fiction and nonfiction, plus cozy reading nooks. It connects to Baristas, a classic Italian-style coffee shop serving cappuccinos, lattes, Americanos, espresso and a wide selection of teas. Light bites rotate through the day, from a Continental-style breakfast to hors d'oeuvres before dinner. A card and game room nearby is stocked with puzzles and games.

Danny's tip: “Some of my favorite books I've found in my life have been on a cruise ship. Stop by, get a suggestion, grab a cup of joe next door and enjoy a book inside or out.”

Terrace Café

The Terrace Café is Marina's fast-casual, buffet-style restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, with seating on both sides and all the way aft. Breakfast brings made-to-order egg stations, bacon and sausage, waffles, pancakes and French toast. Later in the day there are grill items and hot entrées that change often, and lobster and steak are served every evening. The aft terrace is the spot for a meal with a view.

Danny's tip: “All the way aft is my personal favorite spot. Grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee, then step outside and enjoy those incredible views.”

Horizons on Oceania Marina

Horizons

Horizons is the classic observation lounge perched at the top forward of the ship, with floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping around for big views when Marina cruises scenic waters. Tables and chairs line the windows, a full bar wraps around the back, and a bandstand brings music and dancing at night. Afternoon tea is served here every day, with classic English-style service. It's also a quiet, sunny spot to sneak away during the day.

Danny's tip: “My favorite activity here is high tea. I remember cruising as a little guy with my grandma, and it was her all-time favorite. I still love coming back, and now with my daughter.”

Culinary Center & Artist Loft

When Marina launched, her Culinary Center was a space unique to the industry, and it's still a highlight. Chefs lead full demonstrations with cameras overhead, then guests cook at workstations that wrap around the room. Some shore excursions take guests ashore with the chefs to shop at local markets, then back on board to learn how to cook what they bought. Next door, the Artist Loft has an artist in residence teaching classes in different mediums.

Danny's tip: “You can actually head ashore with the chefs, buy the ingredients and come back here to learn how to cook them, especially on the longer cruises.”

Grand Dining Room & Martinis on Oceania Marina

Grand Dining Room & Martinis

The Grand Dining Room sits all the way aft and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with an upgraded, extensive à la carte menu, tables for two and four, and larger tables too. All guests can enjoy it throughout the cruise. Between the Grand Dining Room and Martinis is the Grand Bar, a promenade-style lounge with sofas and coffee service. Martinis is a favorite gathering place before or after dinner, with a full bar and live piano music.

Danny's tip: “One of my favorite things they do in the Grand Dining Room is the over-the-top brunch experience.”

▶ Watch in Danny's tour · 18:18

Red Ginger & Jacques

Red Ginger is a fan favorite, serving true Asian fusion with dishes inspired by Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia and Thailand, at tables for two and four and in booths. The menu is large, so plan to stop by more than once. Jacques is the French restaurant dedicated to chef Jacques Pépin, who curated the menu. Expect cheeses, pastries, tableside presentation and a rotisserie turning out the signature roast chicken, all included in your fare.

Danny's tip: “At Jacques, the chicken is over-the-top delicious; I think it might be the best I've ever had. At Red Ginger, if you want to crank up the spice, just let them know.”
