Star Princess

Princess Cruises’ second Sphere Class ship pairs a glass-enclosed Dome on her top deck with a three-story Piazza, a theater in the round, and specialty dining from Love by Britto to The Butcher’s Block. We’ve walked the decks, so you can see the ship before you book.

The Second Sphere Class Love Boat

Star Princess entered service in October 2025 as the second Sphere Class ship, following her sister Sun Princess. She carries 4,300 guests and keeps the features that made the class stand out, including the glass-enclosed Dome, The Piazza beneath the Sphere, and the Wake View Terrace infinity pool. She also builds on them: Love by Britto is larger here, the Crown Grill adds Nolan Ryan’s Good Stock beef, and the casino has a much bigger smoke-free area.

Danny, Harr Travel’s Princess expert, starts on the pool deck and works his way through the Sanctuary Club, the specialty restaurants, the spa and the kids’ clubs. Star Princess sails Alaska in summer and the Caribbean in winter, so he also points out his favorite spots for scenic cruising. Star Princess Highlights

Pool Deck & The Dome on Star Princess

Pool Deck & The Dome

The main pool deck has two pools and hot tubs, shaped for morning laps or for sitting on the edge with your feet in the water. Lido Slice, Lido Tacos, Lido Grill, Lido Greens and Coffee & Cones keep lunch easy, and the Movies Under the Stars screen, a Princess original, shows first-run films and sports. Above it all sits the Dome, a glass-enclosed lounge and stage with an indoor/outdoor pool and the Cascade Bar at its entrance.

Danny's tip: “My personal favorite at Lido Tacos is the al pastor, and I love that you can make your own soft serve at Coffee & Cones.”

Seaview & Wake View Terraces

Star Princess has outdoor retreats at both ends. Forward, the Seaview Terrace and Seaview Bar are adults-only (16 and up), with a pool that extends into the Dome, hot tubs on either side and wraparound bar seating. Aft, the Wake View Terrace has an infinity pool looking straight off the back of the ship, two hot tubs, a full bar and daybeds. The aft is Danny’s favorite spot on any ship, especially when sailing past glaciers.

Danny's tip: “Step down one deck from the Seaview Terrace to the forward lounge. I'd argue it's one of the best spots on board for scenic cruising in Alaska or the Panama Canal.”

Sanctuary Club on Star Princess

Sanctuary Club

The Sanctuary Club sits at the top of the ship, all the way aft, and is reserved for Sanctuary Collection guests in suites, mini-suites and select balconies. It has a pool big enough for laps, a hot tub, extra-padded loungers, a small buffet and food delivered to your lounger. Private cabanas cost extra. Full-suite guests also get the Signature Suite Lounge, with two-story windows and a suite concierge, and Sanctuary guests dine at the Sanctuary Restaurant all day.

Danny's tip: “The Sanctuary Club is one of the most exclusive and best spaces in all of cruising. I'd definitely consider the upgrade.”

The Piazza

The Piazza is the ship’s gathering place, spread over three decks with three-story windows. A moving LED screen and a DJ booth set the stage for aerial acts and pop-diva tribute shows from morning to late night. Around it are Coffee Currents, Bellinis (home of the champagne waterfall), the Crooners piano bar, the International Café and Makoto Ocean, a sushi restaurant created with Japanese chef Makoto Okuwa, where Danny has had some of his best sushi at sea.

Danny's tip: “At Makoto Ocean, my favorite spot to sit is the sushi bar. And at Coffee Currents, the baristas always know your drink when you arrive.”

The Arena & Princess Live! on Star Princess

The Arena & Princess Live!

The Princess Arena is the main theater, and it’s new for Princess: a theater in the round where the floor rises and lowers as part of the stage, backed by a huge LED screen. It hosts two Broadway-style production shows plus guest entertainers, all included in your fare. Princess Live! mixes lounge and stage, with trivia, game shows, and music and dancing at night. Nearby, the casino has added a much larger smoke-free section.

Danny's tip: “If you're putting a group together, both The Arena and Princess Live! can host group events. Just let us know and we'll take care of the details.”

Umai, Sabatini’s & Crown Grill

The specialty lineup runs deep. Umai offers teppanyaki with a show, plus hot pot, which is rare at sea. Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria serves handmade pastas, minestrone and tiramisu. The Crown Grill is bigger on this ship and adds Nolan Ryan’s Good Stock beef, including ribeye and tomahawk, next to the classic strip and filet. The Catch by Rudi covers seafood, with an optional seafood tower. Some of these may be included in a package.

Danny's tip: “Book Umai and Sabatini's early. They're fan favorites, and for me Umai is all about the fried rice.”

O'Malley's Irish Pub on Star Princess

O’Malley’s Irish Pub

O’Malley’s Irish Pub is where Danny likes to spend his evenings. Expect piano sing-alongs, booths by the windows, low tables and high-top pub seating. Food here costs extra, and there’s a burger and fish and chips on the menu. Nearby, Good Spirits, created with mixologist Rob Floyd, has a demonstration kitchen with overhead cameras so you can learn to make cocktails, and the classic Wheelhouse Bar pours drinks outside the Crown Grill.

Danny's tip: “O'Malley's is my favorite place to spend the evening, and the burger there is out of this world.”

Main Dining Rooms

Star Princess has three main dining rooms. The Aurora, on the lowest level, offers traditional seating, with the same table, tablemates and waiter every night. The Celestial, just above it, is for anytime dining, roughly 5:00 to 9:00, restaurant style. Tables seat two to ten, with booths too. Menus keep Princess classics like steak, salmon and shrimp alongside new dishes. The Eatery and the Americana Diner handle casual meals.

Danny's tip: “Traditional seating is personally my favorite way to go. Tell your Harr Travel advisor your table preference, and we'll note it so it's there when you arrive.”

Signature Experiences on Star Princess

Love by Britto

A romance-themed restaurant at the aft, filled with Romero Britto's art and served on custom plates. It's larger than the version on Sun Princess and very popular. Danny's picks: the wagyu or the butter-poached lobster.

▶ See it · 9:18

Spellbound by Magic Castle

Created with the famed Magic Castle in Los Angeles, Spellbound pairs close-up sleight-of-hand magic with cocktails. Danny says you'll forget you're on a cruise ship for a while, and recommends signing up early.

▶ See it · 15:14

The Butcher's Block by Dario

A celebration of meat created with Tuscan butcher Dario Cecchini, with an open kitchen and Bistecca Fiorentina as the signature dish. There are vegetarian options too. It's very popular, so Danny says to book early.
