Anthem of the Seas

Royal Caribbean’s second Quantum Class ship pairs the North Star, skydiving at sea with RipCord by iFLY, and bumper cars in the SeaPlex with indoor spaces built for any weather. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Quantum Class Favorite, Indoors and Out

Anthem of the Seas entered service in April 2015 as the second Quantum Class ship, part of Royal Caribbean’s first high-tech class. She has the North Star, RipCord by iFLY, the SeaPlex, Two70 and the Bionic Bar, plus a climate-controlled indoor pool and an adults-only Solarium. Danny calls her the perfect combination for so many destinations, with wonderful indoor spaces, outdoor spaces and world-class entertainment.

Danny filmed this tour in 2025, from the pool deck and the Solarium down to the Royal Esplanade, Music Hall and main dining rooms. Along the way he shares the hidden gems he heads to first and the reservations he makes early. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Anthem of the Seas Highlights

Pool Deck & North Star on Anthem of the Seas

Pool Deck & North Star

The North Star is a climate-controlled glass capsule on a giant crane arm that lifts guests several stories up and out over the side of the ship. Danny calls it a pretty cool experience while sailing past glaciers. Right below it is the North Star Bar. The main pool is big enough for laps, with a shallow ledge for dipping your toes, the Sky Bar, a bandstand and a big LED screen for movies and sports.

Danny's tip: “The main pool is big enough to swim laps. I do that in the morning or later in the evening, when it's quiet.”

The Solarium

All the way forward, the adults-only Solarium is complimentary and fully climate controlled. Day beds line the windows, and two levels of loungers face out the front of the ship, which makes it a great spot for scenic cruising. The Sunshine Bar sits in the middle, cascading pools step down the room, and bridge wings by the hot tubs have big views. Just inside, the Solarium Bistro serves breakfast and lunch, then a complimentary Mediterranean dinner by reservation.

Danny's tip: “The Solarium Bistro is a hidden gem. I always stop by here first on boarding day, and a lot of people never find it.”

RipCord by iFLY & FlowRider on Anthem of the Seas

RipCord by iFLY & FlowRider

The aft sports zone starts with the rock climbing wall, a complimentary concept that debuted on Voyager of the Seas and works for every skill level. Next door, the FlowRider surf simulator is complimentary too, with lessons and private hour-long rentals. RipCord by iFLY lets guests skydive at sea in a wind tunnel, from first-timers to experienced flyers. Guests watch a short instructional video and suit up before flying, and Danny’s kids beg to do it again every sailing.

Danny's tip: “I check in at the desk next to the rock wall first. I sign the waiver once, they go over the rules, and it covers RipCord, the FlowRider and the rock wall for the rest of the cruise.”

SeaPlex

The SeaPlex is an enormous indoor zone for family fun, so the weather never matters. Its full basketball court also hosts dodgeball, gaga ball, roller skating and big parties, then turns into a track for the complimentary bumper cars, where two can ride together. The Dog House serves fast casual hot dogs and bratwurst. Up a level are ping pong tables, the Xbox lounge and seating to watch the action, plus a separate arcade with racing games, Skee-Ball and claw games.

Danny's tip: “The arcade comes at an additional cost, so I have that conversation with the kids before we walk in.”

Kids & Teens on Anthem of the Seas

Kids & Teens

Adventure Ocean starts with a drop-off nursery for little ones from six months to 36 months, with cribs, play areas, diaper changes and meals, booked by time slot. Families can also play together in an open, supervised play area. The drop-off kids club begins at age three, potty trained, with crafts, games, video games and movie nights by age group. Teens get the Living Room, with video games and quiet nooks, and Fuel, their own dance club.

Danny's tip: “On the very first day I check the kids in and tell them exactly who can drop off and pick up. You even give them a secret word.”

Two70

Two70 takes its name from the 270-degree wall of windows at the back of the ship, two stories high. By day it’s a lounge with a library, a full bar and big views for scenic cruising. At night it becomes an entertainment complex, with two stages, performers who drop from the ceiling or pop up from the floor, and six robotic screens. Café @ Two70 next door serves made-to-order sandwiches, soups, a salad bar and fresh orange juice.

Danny's tip: “Café @ Two70 is a hidden gem. I stop by on the first day for the Kummelweck sandwich, and I come back in the morning for coffee and orange juice because upstairs gets more crowded.”

Specialty Dining on Anthem of the Seas

Specialty Dining

Chops Grille is the classic steakhouse, with signature cuts, pork belly, Caesar salad and an over-the-top cheesecake. The Chef’s Table is tucked in the back. Izumi is Danny’s favorite specialty restaurant on board, with sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, chicken karaage and teriyaki bowls. At Jamie’s Italian, Danny’s daughter wanted the fresh pasta over and over again. Wonderland serves whimsical dishes you reveal by painting your menu. Specialty dining carries an extra cost.

Danny's tip: “At Chops, the ribeye is my cut and the pork belly is my favorite appetizer. It's one of the most popular options on board, so I reserve early.”

Royal Esplanade & Nightlife

The Royal Esplanade runs down the center of the ship with bars, restaurants, shops and Guest Relations at the base of the stairs. Sorrento’s pizza and Café Promenade are complimentary and open late. Boleros turns into a Latin dance club at night, and the Brass & Bock pub has live music. The Schooner Bar is a piano bar Danny says you shouldn’t miss. The two-level Music Hall has a big stage, a dance floor, bars and pool tables.

Danny's tip: “Every night on board, you'll find me in the Music Hall. Before that, I grab the Pub Burger at the Brass & Bock. It's one of the best in the fleet.”

Signature Experiences on Anthem

The Bionic Bar

A robot bartender mixes your drink. Tap your SeaPass card, order, and it pulls the mixers and spirits to craft the drink exactly the same way every time. It overlooks the Royal Esplanade, so it's great for people watching.

▶ See it · 21:58

The Chef's Table

A wine-paired dinner tucked in the back of Chops. The chef comes out to explain each dish and the sommelier explains the pairings. Danny filmed the very first Danny Dines at this table, and says you'll be friends for life.

▶ See it · 21:00

Wonderland

Imaginative cuisine in a whimsical room. You dip a brush in water and paint your menu to reveal dishes that may look one way and taste completely different. Danny recommends trying it at least once.
