Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean’s newest Icon Class ship has eight neighborhoods, the largest waterpark at sea, a Broadway-caliber Willy Wonka musical, and dinner aboard a moving train. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

The Third Icon Class Ship and the Biggest Yet

Legend of the Seas joined the fleet in June 2026 as the third Icon Class ship, a few millimeters longer than her sisters Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. She brings everything that made the Icon Class a hit, including Category 6, the AquaDome, Central Park and Surfside. She also adds things you won’t find anywhere else: Royal Railway – Legend Station, the Hollywoodland Supper Club, and Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The name is a nod to history. The original Legend of the Seas debuted in 1995, and Danny sailed her for the first time about 25 years ago. Now he walks you through the new Legend, neighborhood by neighborhood. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Legend of the Seas Highlights

Thrill Island on Legend of the Seas

Thrill Island

Home to Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, with six slides that include a family raft slide, drop slides and racer slides. It’s included in your fare. Thrill Island also has Crown’s Edge, a walk-the-plank skywalk high above the ocean (extra cost); a rock climbing wall Danny calls the best Royal has built; and Lost Dunes, a shipwreck-themed mini golf course. Base Camp keeps everyone fed with smashburgers and tots, and has a bar for the grown-ups.

Danny's tip: “I hit the slides the minute they open, or late in the evening. I've found those are the quietest times.”

Chill Island

Legend’s main pool deck centers on Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea. It has a lap lane down the middle and in-water loungers along the edges. Around it are the Cove infinity pool, a champagne-glass hot tub perched above everything, Cloud 17 (the spot for sail away) and the Swim & Tonic swim-up bar. The Lime & Coconut spans three-plus decks with four bars. You can also reserve private casitas with call-button drink service.

Danny's tip: “I prefer booking a casita on a sea day, and my go-to frozen drink at the Lime & Coconut is the Painkiller.”

AquaDome on Legend of the Seas

AquaDome

This glass dome was lifted onto the ship in one piece. During the day the AquaDome Market food hall serves crêpes, Korean bowls, Cajun gumbo, al pastor tacos and Spanish tapas, plus the Simply Pressed juice bar, all complimentary. At night the AquaTheater hosts Shockwave, with high divers, slackliners and a ceiling that turns into a waterfall. Hooked Seafood and Rye & Bean (coffee by day, cocktails by night) complete the neighborhood. The Overlook lounge has some of the best forward views on the ship.

Danny's tip: “Shockwave is the most popular show on board, so I always reserve it early and show up early. At Rye & Bean, I order the coconut cold brew.”

Central Park

Central Park is an open-air garden with tens of thousands of real plants and living walls, cared for by full-time horticulturists. It’s home to Izumi Sushi & Hibachi, Chops Grille, Park Café (unlimited included cookies and the famous Kummelweck sandwich), Bubbles champagne bar, and Lou’s, a jazz club named for Louis Armstrong. Danny thinks the park looks even better at night.

Danny's tip: “Izumi in the Park's takeout window has the best ice cream on the ship, and it's not even close. I always get the bubble cone.”

Surfside on Legend of the Seas

Surfside

Surfside is a stay-all-day neighborhood for families with kids about 10 and under. It has Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay, a duck-themed carousel, an upgraded playscape, the Sugar Beach candy shop and milkshake bar, an arcade (extra cost), and Surfside Eatery and Surfside Bites. The Lemon Post bar serves drinks for both kids and adults. Admiral Awesome reads bedtime stories most nights around 8:00 p.m.

Danny's tip: “Pier 7 is my family's favorite restaurant on the Icon Class. I go for the sea-day brunch pancakes and the Santa Maria steak at dinner.”

Royal Promenade

The Royal Promenade is the ship’s two-level main street, with floor-to-ceiling ocean windows. At its center is the Pearl, a kinetic sculpture that moves to music and is part of the ship’s structure. You’ll find the Schooner Bar (Danny’s favorite bar on board), Boleros, dueling pianos, the mixology-focused 1400 Bar, Sorrento’s pizza until the early morning, Playmakers, and Pearl Café, open 24/7.

Danny's tip: “Legend's hull number, 1402, is hidden on the upper Promenade. See if you can find it.”

The Hideaway on Legend of the Seas

The Hideaway

The Hideaway is an adults-only retreat all the way aft. It has stadium-style loungers, hot tubs, its own bar, and an infinity pool suspended over Surfside, which Danny calls the best Instagram spot on the ship. It’s quiet during the day and gets lively in the evening.

Danny's tip: “My favorite spot is one of the padded loungers facing straight out the back of the ship.”

Absolute Zero & Shows

Fusion takes over the largest ice arena at sea, and guests can skate themselves too. The Royal Theater stages Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and America’s Got Talent LIVE at Sea. After dark, there’s the Music Hall, dueling pianos, sing-alongs at the Schooner Bar, Lou’s jazz club, and a two-story casino with a smoke-free level. All the headline shows are included in your fare.

Danny's tip: “Seats go fast. I reserve every show in the Royal app the moment booking opens, and I arrive early.”

Absolute Zero & Shows on Legend of the Seas

New, and Only on Legend

Royal Railway – Legend Station

Dinner aboard real train carriages, where screens make it feel like the train is traveling through your destination. You get five signature cocktails, and the waiters are part of the show. Danny's advice: book it the moment it's available.

Hollywoodland Supper Club

Legend's top dining experience: an intimate multi-course dinner where every course is paired with a cocktail and a live music performance. Dress up for this one.

▶ See it · 36:17

Roald Dahl's Broadway hit makes its debut at sea, with a 16-piece live orchestra and what Danny calls the most incredible sets at sea.
