Liberty of the Seas

The second Freedom Class ship is home to the Tidal Wave boomerang slide, The Perfect Storm, cantilevered whirlpools and an ice rink, and her 2026 amplification added casitas, The Lime and Coconut and Izumi. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Freedom Class Favorite, Amplified Twice

Liberty of the Seas entered service in 2007 as the second Freedom Class ship, and Danny was on board for her inaugural sailing. A 2016 makeover added the Tidal Wave boomerang slide, The Perfect Storm and a bigger Splashaway Bay. In spring 2026 she came out of a second Royal Amplified refit with private casitas, The Lime and Coconut, Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, El Loco Fresh, a Starbucks, an escape room and an expanded casino.

Danny’s walkthrough was filmed in 2023, before the latest refit, so a few spaces he shows, like Sabor and the On Air karaoke lounge, are gone, and Adventure Ocean has since been redesigned. The slides, Solarium, Royal Promenade, Schooner Bar and Studio B are all still there. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Liberty of the Seas Highlights

Pool Deck & The Lime and Coconut on Liberty of the Seas

Pool Deck & The Lime and Coconut

Liberty's pool deck has two large pools, one more for sports and one more for chilling, three extra-large hot tubs, a big outdoor movie screen and a running track that wraps around the deck. Suite guests and Pinnacle Club members get priority seating on a tiered sun deck. The 2026 amplification gave the whole area a Caribbean-style refresh with private casitas and The Lime and Coconut, a multi-level bar. Danny's tour was filmed just before those changes.

Danny's tip: “If you want a little break from the sun, there's shaded seating tucked underneath, a bit away from the pool.”

Tidal Wave, The Perfect Storm & FlowRider

The back of Deck 13 is all complimentary fun in the sun. Tidal Wave, which Royal Caribbean calls the first boomerang-style slide at sea, sends riders up a steep wall and back down, and The Perfect Storm adds two more slides. The FlowRider surf simulator works for first-timers and experienced riders alike. The sports court hosts three-on-three basketball, dodgeball and soccer, and the rock climbing wall has routes for several skill levels, with a bell to race for at the top.

Danny's tip: “If you're new to the FlowRider, start with boogie boarding. It's a little easier, and it's a blast no matter your level.”

Solarium on Liberty of the Seas

Solarium

The adults-only Solarium, for guests 16 and up, is a bit bigger than on the Voyager Class ships. A bridge crosses the pool with seating on either side, and a shallow edge wraps all the way around, so you can sit and dip your toes in. The two large hot tubs are cantilevered out over the side of the ship, a design that first appeared on sister ship Freedom of the Seas. It has its own bar, and a quiet sun deck sits up top.

Adventure Ocean

Adventure Ocean keeps kids 3 to 11 busy in age groups, with arts and crafts, science experiments, video game stations and active games like GaGa ball, bowling and basketball. Little ones from 6 to 36 months have their own nursery space, which not every Royal Caribbean ship offers. Teens get The Living Room and their own club, renamed Social040 in the 2026 amplification. That refit also redesigned Adventure Ocean to match newer ships, so today's layout differs from the tour. The arcade costs extra.

Danny's tip: “Stop by on boarding day to register your kids, and list everyone who's allowed to pick them up. When we travel, my parents usually do that so my wife and I can enjoy a specialty dinner.”

Windjammer on Liberty of the Seas

Windjammer

The Windjammer is Liberty's included buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bar at the center serves fresh-squeezed juice, and there's a coffee machine for the morning. Buffet lines repeat on both sides, with salads, pasta and Indian dishes Danny really likes, plus three dessert stations. A full grill turns out burgers, hot dogs and fries at lunch, and the egg station handles omelets and eggs Benedict at breakfast. Seating wraps around the sides and the very back of the ship.

Danny's tip: “My recommendation is always to go to the back. That's where you'll find the most open seating, especially on boarding day.”

Chops Grille & Giovanni's Table

Chops Grille is Royal Caribbean's classic steakhouse, with an open kitchen, booths and larger round tables for groups. Danny starts with the crab cake or the colossal shrimp cocktail and the lobster bisque, and suite guests have breakfast here too. Giovanni's Table serves a classic Italian menu with calamari, minestrone and tagliatelle carbonara, Danny's personal favorite, with family-style tables for 10. Both cost extra, and dining packages are one way to try several specialty restaurants for less.

Danny's tip: “Chops is generally the most popular specialty restaurant, so I always recommend that you reserve ahead. I'm always going with the bone-in rib eye. It's the juiciest and the tastiest.”

Royal Promenade & Boleros on Liberty of the Seas

Royal Promenade & Boleros

The three-story Royal Promenade runs down the middle of the ship like a city street. Danny calls it an innovation Royal Caribbean got very right. You'll find Cafe Promenade, Sorrento's Pizza, the Cupcake Cupboard, Vintages wine bar, an English pub, duty-free shops and a vintage car, and a free-standing Starbucks arrived in 2026. The Promenade hosts parades and theme parties, and Danny's favorite is the 70s party. Nearby, Boleros brings a live Latin band for salsa and dancing.

Danny's tip: “Guest Services gets very busy on the first and last day, so I always recommend taking care of your business during the cruise.”

Schooner Bar & Casino Royale

Danny calls the Schooner Bar his favorite bar on every Royal Caribbean ship. It pays tribute to the old Caribbean schooners with nautical decor and a ship model, a piano player performs and takes requests every night, and it hosts trivia during the day. Next door, Casino Royale, expanded in the 2026 amplification, offers slot machines, three card poker, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, roulette, craps and hand-dealt Texas Hold'em, one of Danny's favorite games. As always, gamble responsibly.

Danny's tip: “I always find the Schooner Bar has the best energy of any bar on board, and that comes down to the bartenders.”

Signature Experiences on Liberty

Tidal Wave

Royal Caribbean calls Tidal Wave the first boomerang-style slide at sea. Riders drop down and shoot up a steep wall before sliding back, right at the edge of the ship. It arrived in Liberty's 2016 amplification and is complimentary.

Cantilevered Whirlpools

Two large hot tubs in the adults-only Solarium extend out over the side of the ship. Danny notes the design debuted on sister ship Freedom of the Seas, and he loves that Liberty has them too.

▶ See it · 4:20

Studio B Ice Rink

Studio B hosts free skate sessions and ice shows by world-class skaters, so reserve ahead. The 2026 refit brought a new show, Boots and Blades. Danny's favorite night here is The Quest, an adults-only game.
