Navigator of the Seas

Royal Caribbean’s amplified Voyager Class favorite pairs The Blaster, the longest waterslide at sea, with a Caribbean-style pool deck, a real ice rink and a Royal Promenade full of bars and late-night bites. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

A Voyager Class Classic, Turned Way Up

Navigator of the Seas entered service in December 2002 as the fourth Voyager Class ship. A major Royal Amplified refit in 2019 gave her a reimagined pool deck with The Lime and Coconut, The Blaster aqua coaster and Riptide mat racer, Hooked Seafood, the Bamboo Room tiki bar and the Observatorium escape room. She still keeps the Voyager Class signatures, like the Royal Promenade, the three-story main dining room and Studio B, a real ice rink.

Danny first sailed Navigator in his 20s, came back in his 30s, and now cruises her with his kids. He filmed this tour in 2025, starting on the pool deck and working through the sports deck, the Viking Crown, the specialty restaurants and Adventure Ocean, before finishing on the Royal Promenade and in Studio B. Navigator of the Seas Highlights

Pool Deck & The Lime and Coconut on Navigator of the Seas

Pool Deck & The Lime and Coconut

The 2019 amplification doubled the pool's surface area and gave Navigator a bright, Caribbean-style pool deck. Two good-sized pools sit in the middle with seating all around the edges, plus Baby Bay and Splashaway Bay for the littlest cruisers and hot tubs on two levels. The Lime and Coconut climbs three levels above it all, with bars, a DJ, colorful casitas and a top-level sun deck. An extra-large LED screen shows movies and big games in the evening.

Danny's tip: “I like that the pools are long enough to swim laps, especially if you come down in the morning.”

The Blaster, Riptide & FlowRider

Navigator was the first Royal Caribbean ship with The Blaster, an aqua coaster that uses water jets to push riders up and down, and Royal calls it the longest waterslide at sea. Its partner, Riptide, is a headfirst mat racer that curves out over the side of the ship. Both are included in the fare. The FlowRider surf simulator sits right beside them, with stadium seating for spectators, and the complimentary rock climbing wall is close by.

Danny's tip: “For the rock wall, always bring socks with you. It's complimentary, and they've got the climbing shoes for you.”

Navigator Dunes & Sports Court on Navigator of the Seas

Navigator Dunes & Sports Court

Up on the sports deck, Navigator Dunes is a themed mini golf course that's open from morning into the evening, and fun for all ages. Next to it, the sports court hosts basketball, dodgeball and tournaments, and it now has three pickleball courts. Danny grew up shooting free throws and playing three-on-three on Royal Caribbean sports courts, and his kids play mini golf here today. The adults-only Solarium, with its own pool and bar, sits just forward of the main pool deck.

Danny's tip: “My daughter's favorite hole is the Little Mermaid clamshell, and she beats me on it every single time.”

Viking Crown & Suite Lounge

The Viking Crown is a Royal Caribbean signature you can spot from far away. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows look down to the pool deck and out to sea. It works as a multi-use space by day and turns into a nightclub at night, with a DJ booth, a piano and the Crow's Nest Bar. Next door, the Suite Lounge serves guests in Ocean View Panoramic Suites and above, with a suite concierge, light bites through the day and an outdoor terrace.

Danny's tip: “In the Suite Lounge, the coffee machine is complimentary, and my favorite is the hot chocolate right next to it.”

Adventure Ocean & Teen Spaces on Navigator of the Seas

Adventure Ocean & Teen Spaces

Adventure Ocean is a drop-off program for kids ages 3 to 11, grouped more by interests than strict age bands, with arts and crafts, science experiments, movie time, video games and gaga ball. Late-evening sessions are available at an extra cost. Royal Babies and Tots cares for little ones from 6 to 36 months, with feeding, changing and a nap area. Teens have their own indoor lounge with a huge TV, foosball and video games, plus a private outdoor deck.

Danny's tip: “For Royal Babies and Tots, sign up on the very first day so you get the time slots you want.”

Specialty Dining

Navigator has a specialty restaurant for most cravings. Izumi is a sushi bar with rolls, sashimi and Japanese dishes like teriyaki. Chops Grille is the classic steakhouse with prime cuts and an open kitchen. Jamie's Italian, from chef Jamie Oliver, serves handmade pastas in a shared, home-style setting. Hooked Seafood has Cape Cod decor, an oyster bar and lobster, open for lunch and dinner most days. All four come at an extra cost, alone or as part of a dining package.

Danny's tip: “Izumi is my happy place. It's all about the rolls for me, like the champagne lobster roll and the rainbow roll, and I've been known to stop by before dinner and maybe after.”

Royal Promenade & Bars on Navigator of the Seas

Royal Promenade & Bars

The Royal Promenade runs down the middle of the ship like a city street, with Promenade-view staterooms above. Along it you'll find Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, the complimentary Cafe Promenade, the Copper and Clover pub with live music nightly, the Bamboo Room tiki bar and the retro R Bar. Nearby are the Schooner Bar, Danny's favorite bar on every Royal ship, Boleros for Latin music and dancing, a full Starbucks and the Casino Royale.

Danny's tip: “At the Bamboo Room, you've got to try the mai tai. And make sure you visit our friend Cliff, the parrot in the corner.”

Studio B & Shows

Studio B is a real ice rink. Guests can skate during open sessions, and at night it hosts an ice show with world-class skaters and drones, included in the fare. The rink also hosts laser tag and the adults-only Quest scavenger hunt. All the way forward, the Royal Theater stages Broadway and Las Vegas-style revues and guest entertainers, and the Star Lounge hosts karaoke and game shows. The three-story main dining room is one of Danny's favorites in the industry.

Danny's tip: “This was the very first ice rink my daughter learned to skate on. The ice show with the drones is one of my favorites in the entire fleet.”

The Blaster & Riptide

Added in the 2019 amplification, The Blaster aqua coaster is the longest waterslide at sea, and Riptide was the first headfirst mat racer at sea. Both are included in the fare, with minimum height requirements.

Hooked Seafood

A New England-style seafood restaurant with Cape Cod decor and an oyster bar, open for lunch and dinner most days. Danny's picks are the messy fish sandwich at lunch, the lobster and the oysters.

The Observatorium Escape Room

A Royal Escape Room perched at the very top of the ship, built around a giant telescope. Teams have an hour to solve linked puzzles. It costs extra, so sign up ahead.
