Silver Whisper

Silversea’s intimate Shadow Class ship carries just 392 guests in all-suite comfort, with nearly one crew member for every guest, French fine dining at La Dame and Italian nights on the aft terrace. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the ship, so you can see her before you book.

Intimate by Design, Built for Discovery

Silver Whisper entered service in 2001 and, with her sister Silver Shadow, makes up Silversea’s Shadow Class. She carries just 392 guests and 302 crew, so service feels personal from the first welcome glass of champagne. Silversea refreshed her in 2024, and she’s one of the smallest luxury ships to host a World Cruise, small enough to reach secluded ports that big ships skip. Danny filmed this tour on board, and it shows why guests keep coming back to this ship.

Every accommodation is a suite, and Silver Whisper shares her suite layouts with Silver Shadow, so our Silver Shadow suite tours show you the rooms on this ship class. This tour starts on the pool deck, climbs to the spa and the Observation Library, then heads aft to the Panorama Lounge and La Terrazza before La Dame, the Show Lounge, the Atrium and The Restaurant. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Silver Whisper Highlights

Pool Deck & The Grill on Silver Whisper

Pool Deck & The Grill

Sun loungers sit above the pool in both sun and shade, with upgraded cushions, towels and throw blankets set out. Down below, guests can sit right around the pool and dip their toes in, with a hot tub on either side. Sunscreen and champagne on ice wait by the pool bar, and drinks and food come to you. By day The Grill serves elevated classics, and in the evening it becomes a specialty-style restaurant for dining al fresco under the stars.

Danny's tip: “I love that setup, with a hot tub on either side. And keep in mind, with Silversea you've got to ask for the things that make you happy. They seldom say no.”

Zagara Spa & Fitness Center

The spa covers massages, wraps and facials, with a full-service salon, a men's barber shop, and manicures and pedicures, a real advantage on longer voyages. The changing rooms include a sauna and steam room at no additional cost. The fitness center lines its bikes, ellipticals and treadmills along the windows, with circuit equipment, a rowing machine, free weights and an aerobics studio for complimentary yoga and group classes.

Danny's tip: “I always recommend stopping by the spa the first day to learn about the treatments and book. I really love a deep tissue massage after a long flight joining the ship.”

Observation Library on Silver Whisper

Observation Library

All the way up and all the way forward, perched like a crown, the Observation Library wraps floor-to-ceiling windows around the front and sides of the ship. It's a library too, with a passenger book exchange, a puzzle table that's always in progress, games to play with fellow guests, and a coffee and tea station. Just forward, an outside deck is the place to be with a camera when the ship cruises through scenic waters.

Danny's tip: “Many of my favorite books I've found on cruise ships over the years, and this is the perfect place to grab a book and read.”

Panorama Lounge

All the way aft, the Panorama Lounge lives up to its name, with views wrapping around and out the back of the ship. Lounge-style tables and chairs face a stage and full dance floor, with music every night and a DJ keeping things going later on. The full bar serves the room, which also hosts trivia, bingo, get-togethers and enrichment talks. By day, it's a bright, quiet spot to read.

Danny's tip: “There's a wonderful outdoor seating area out here, and it's one of my favorite spots to be on the ship.”

La Terrazza on Silver Whisper

La Terrazza

La Terrazza is the casual choice for breakfast and lunch every day, buffet style with made-to-order dishes, and tables for two and four inside. In the evening it becomes a specialty-style Italian restaurant, where handmade pasta makes all the difference, available each and every night. The real draw is the terrace that gives the restaurant its name, with tables right over the wake.

Danny's tip: “For me, there's no better place to be on any cruise ship than out on this terrace, with the wake kicking up as you sail away from some of the most incredible destinations around.”

La Dame

La Dame is the ship's primary specialty restaurant, serving classic French meals with a twist and wine pairings. It may carry an additional cost, depending on the suite booked. Tables for two and four, plus booths on the far side, all come with ocean views. For a special occasion or a wine-paired dinner, it's the perfect choice on board.

Danny's tip: “Growing up, the sound of my grandmother's house was Julia Child and Jacques Pépin on the television. She loved to experiment with all types of cooking, and here they've perfected it.”

The Restaurant on Silver Whisper

The Restaurant

The Restaurant is Silver Whisper's main dining room, serving à la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. There are tables for two and four, and the team can accommodate larger groups too. Guests mix and match, maybe La Terrazza for breakfast and The Restaurant for dinner. The food is delicious, but it's the world-class servers who take it to another level, guiding wines and dishes alike.

Danny's tip: “If you want something, just ask. That's what Silversea is known for.”
