Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages’ second Lady Ship is adults only, with more than 20 included eateries, no buffet, and a festival spirit that runs from the Athletic Club to The Manor. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

The Lady Ship Built for Grown-Up Fun

Valiant Lady joined Virgin Voyages in 2022 as the second of the line’s four Lady Ships, a sister to Scarlet, Resilient and Brilliant Lady. She is adults only (18+), and Virgin calls its guests Sailors. There’s no buffet and no main dining room. Instead, more than 20 eateries are included in the fare, from Gunbae’s Korean barbecue to the Test Kitchen, along with Wi-Fi, group fitness classes and the shows.

Danny filmed this tour in May 2023, and he says it’s the crew that really sets Virgin apart. He starts on the pool deck and the Athletic Club, then works through Richard’s Rooftop, The Galley, Redemption Spa, the bars and lounges, and The Manor. Some venues have changed since filming, and we’ve noted those below. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Valiant Lady Highlights

The Galley on Valiant Lady

The Galley

The Galley is Virgin's answer to the buffet, and Danny calls it a game changer. It's a food hall of made-to-order counters, all included: Well Bread for fresh bakes, a Burger Bar, Bento Baby for sushi and bento boxes, a taco counter, a noodle bar, Hot Off the Press paninis, and the Diner and Dash, open 24 hours. Sodas, juices and drip coffee are complimentary. Grounds Club Too pours premium Intelligentsia coffee for an extra charge, and there's outdoor seating aft.

Danny's tip: “I love the variety. Maybe I want a burger and some sushi in the same day, a little surf and turf action. And the Diner and Dash is open 24 hours.”

Gunbae

Gunbae is Valiant Lady's Korean barbecue, with a grill set into each table so the whole group cooks together. Virgin built a separate galley for every restaurant on board, which Danny says is rare at sea because it's expensive and difficult, and the hoods over each table grill were a challenge of their own. Every meal starts with a Korean drinking game and a shot of soju. Like every restaurant on the ship, Gunbae is included in the fare.

Danny's tip: “On most other cruise ships you'd pay extra to dine in a restaurant like this. Here it's included, and every meal I've had has been absolutely delicious.”

Richard's Rooftop on Valiant Lady

Richard's Rooftop

Richard's Rooftop sits all the way forward at the top of the ship. It's reserved for guests in RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, with key card access throughout the day and into the evening. By day it feels like a beach club, with a bar, food delivered from the restaurant next door, daybeds, cabanas with catamaran-style nets and a couple of hot tubs. The views over the bow are some of the best on board, especially in scenic waters.

Danny's tip: “Richard's Rooftop is one of the great reasons to upgrade to a suite. The suite experience starts before you even arrive on board, and your Harr Travel advisor can guide you through it.”

The Athletic Club & Outdoor Decks

Valiant Lady's top decks are built around well-being. The Well-being Pool and the Gym & Tonic bar sit beside a training camp with an outdoor boxing ring, TRX and park-style exercise equipment. Further aft are complimentary daybeds, a basketball court, seesaws, swings, foosball and chess. The Athletic Club itself has hot tubs, a big bar and a catamaran-style net high above the ocean. Reservable cabanas with dedicated food and drink service cost extra.

Danny's tip: “The day beds right next to the exercise equipment are probably where you're going to find me. They're complimentary, and the towels are already out for you.”

Redemption Spa & Thermal Suite on Valiant Lady

Redemption Spa & Thermal Suite

Redemption Spa takes up a lot of space on Valiant Lady, which fits Virgin's focus on wellness. The Thermal Suite is an extra-cost day pass or voyage pass. Its circuit includes a hydrotherapy pool, hot and cold plunge pools, a sauna, heated stone loungers along the windows, a mud room, a steam room and a Himalayan salt room. Treatments range from massages and facials to acupuncture and cupping, and The Tune Up does manicures and pedicures with ocean views.

Danny's tip: “I highly recommend you stop by the spa on the very first day and book anything you don't want to miss, especially on sea days. Deep tissue is my personal favorite massage.”

The Dock & The Wake

All the way aft, The Dock House and The Dock serve Mediterranean-style bites with a full bar in the middle. The outdoor deck mixes small tables, big loungers, daybeds and shaded seating, and it wraps around the sides of the ship. It works from morning coffee to sunset drinks. Right next door, The Wake is the included steak and seafood restaurant, with filet mignon, rack of lamb and an upgradeable tomahawk, plus brunch on select days.

Danny's tip: “The Dock is one of my favorite spots on any cruise ship in the world. It's great in the morning, and it's the perfect place to catch the sunset.”

Social Club, Loose Cannon & Arcade on Valiant Lady

Social Club, Loose Cannon & Arcade

The Social Club is a 1950s-style hangout with complimentary hot dogs, soft pretzels and popcorn, plus shuffleboard, air hockey and foosball. Next door, the Loose Cannon is a nautical dive bar with a Kraken, cannons and boat memorabilia, and it hosts trivia nights. The vintage arcade has classics like NBA Jam, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter and Golden Tee, all complimentary. The Pizza Place, open late, and Lick Me Till Ice Cream are steps away.

Danny's tip: “The Loose Cannon is the most beautiful space on the entire ship for me. And in the arcade, there aren't even any kids to compete with.”

The Manor

The Manor is Valiant Lady's nightclub, reached through a hallway of mirrors and lights. During the day it hosts things like 80s exercise classes and adult bingo. In the evening there are shows and live music on the center stage, then a classic club night with a DJ into the early morning. Club Caliente, a Latin dance party, is part of the current lineup. A 2026 refit opened the room into a single level with a bigger dance floor.

Danny's tip: “There's no entrance in the cruise industry quite like the one into The Manor. The daytime classes in there are so much fun I can't even explain it. You've got to try it for yourself.”

The Red Room

Virgin's theater in the round, where pull-out seating wraps the stage and the audience often becomes part of the show. Valiant Lady's lineup includes The Diva, the ship's resident drag queen, and The Magnets.

▶ See it · 24:18

Test Kitchen

The largest restaurant on board and the most experimental. Expect molecular gastronomy, where a dish may smoke, or look like one thing and taste like another. By day it also hosts cocktail-making classes.

▶ See it · 34:39

Ariya by Razzle Dazzle

Modern Indian dinners curated by Chef Maneet Chauhan's Indie Culinaire, named for Richard Branson's great-great-grandmother. By day the same room still serves Razzle Dazzle's vegetarian-forward brunch, which Danny toured.
