Marriott Anchorage Downtown
Celebrity and Royal Caribbean’s Anchorage hotel: a 20-story downtown tower with mountain and water views, walking distance to restaurants and the coastal trail.
A city night in the middle of it all
The cruise lines list it as the Anchorage Marriott, and it’s the downtown tower Marriott calls Marriott Anchorage Downtown, not the airport Marriott. Its 392 rooms have big picture windows, and higher floors look out over Cook Inlet, the Chugach Mountains and, on clear days, Denali.
Your Anchorage night usually starts or ends the land tour, so this is where your guide meets you or where you rest up before the transfer to the ship. Downtown restaurants, the Anchorage Museum and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail are all within walking distance.
Inside the stay
Rooms & the hotel
Rooms come with one king or two queens and city, water or mountain views. Café Promenade serves breakfast, and The Great Room covers lunch, dinner and drinks around a central fireplace. There’s an indoor pool and a fitness center. Marriott says a hotel-wide renovation is underway, so venue names and hours may change.
Downtown on foot
Step out for dinner at a local brewpub or seafood spot, browse galleries, or walk a few blocks to the Delaney Park Strip and the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail for long evening light over the inlet. On some tours, the Anchorage Museum or the Alaska Native Heritage Center is an included stop.
Tours that stay here
- Celebrity 2027 and 2028 cruisetours
- Royal Caribbean 2027 and 2028 cruisetours
- How long. 1 night here, most often 1 night.
- Want more time here? Some tours add an extra night. Tell your advisor and we’ll find the version that fits.
Before you go
- Ship packages stay on the ship. Your ship dining and beverage packages don’t apply on the land portion of any cruisetour, so plan to pay as you go for meals and drinks at the lodge.
- Make sure it’s the right Marriott. Guests ask us this a lot: cruisetours use the downtown Marriott, not the Marriott near the airport. If you’re booking extra nights on your own, book the downtown hotel.
- Adding a night? Book early. If you arrive early, the extra night is booked directly with the hotel, and summer dates can sell out. Let your advisor know so we can note it on your reservation.
