Denali Park Village

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean’s base for Denali: a riverside lodge and cabins a short drive from the park entrance, with the included park tour leaving right from your stay.

Alaska cruisetour

A river lodge at the park’s doorstep

Denali Park Village sits on the banks of the glacier-fed Nenana River, about seven miles south of the Denali National Park entrance. It’s where most Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruisetours spend their Denali nights, with lodge rooms and cozy cabins spread through the spruce, a stone fireplace in the lobby and short trails right down to the water.

Days here are built around the park. Your included Denali tour (the Tundra Wilderness Tour or the Denali Natural History Tour, depending on your itinerary) heads up the park road, and the rest of the time is yours for a guided hike, a raft trip or simply watching the river go by from the deck. Rooms are comfortable rather than fancy, and the river-view rooms are the ones guests remember.

Formerly McKinley Village Lodge (The Lodge) and Denali River Cabins (The Cabins), rebranded by Aramark in 2014.

Your stay

Inside the stay

Lodge rooms & cabins

The Lodge offers standard rooms with two queens or two doubles, river-view rooms that overlook the Nenana, and king rooms, some with a view. Nearby, the Cabins at Denali Park Village are cozy king-bed cabins tucked among the spruce, with a private bath and a small deck. The cruise line assigns your room type, so if a river view matters to you, tell your advisor early and we’ll pass the request along.

Dining & the saloon

Pay as you go

The Gold Rush Dining Room is open all day, from an early breakfast buffet (handy before a morning park tour) to Alaska salmon, halibut and steaks at dinner. The Lucky Miss Saloon pours local beer and cocktails with casual food and an outdoor deck, and The Shack covers grab-and-go burgers and shakes.

Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre

Extra charge · book on site or with your guide

A local favorite in a log roadhouse on the property: a lighthearted Gold Rush musical about Kantishna pioneer Fannie Quigley, with the cast serving an all-you-can-eat family-style dinner of salmon, BBQ ribs and berry cobbler. There are usually two shows a night in summer, and it’s a fun first evening in Denali.

Into the park

Included tour · optional extras extra

Every Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruisetour includes a narrated tour into Denali National Park. Free time is for optional excursions booked through your guide, such as flightseeing over the mountain, Nenana River rafting or a guided wilderness hike. The park visitor center and trailheads are a short ride up the highway.

On the itinerary

Tours that stay here

  • How long. 1 to 2 nights here, most often 1 night.
  • Want more time here? Some tours add an extra night. Tell your advisor and we’ll find the version that fits.
Good to know

Before you go

  • Ship packages stay on the ship. Your ship dining and beverage packages don’t apply on the land portion of any cruisetour, so plan to pay as you go for meals and drinks at the lodge.
  • Pack for an early start. Park tours often leave early in the morning. The dining room opens early for breakfast, but a snack and layers in your day bag help on a long day up the park road.
  • Ask about a river view. Guests who stay here often tell us the river-facing rooms make the stay. Room assignments come from the cruise line, so ask your advisor to add the request well before you sail.
  • Expect rustic charm. This is a classic Alaska lodge, cozy and simple rather than a resort. Think of it as a comfortable base for long days outdoors.
