Perfect Day CocoCay
Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, and the most-visited stop on Harr Travel bookings. Here’s what’s free, what’s worth the upgrade and what to book early.
The stop our guests book around
More Harr Travel guests visit Perfect Day CocoCay than any other port. Many choose their sailing for it. Royal Caribbean has turned the island into a full day out: beaches with free loungers, the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, a kids’ splash zone and five places to eat at no charge, plus upgrades for guests who want a waterpark, an adults-only beach or a cabana over the water.
The best days here are planned before you sail. The most popular cabanas and day passes sell out, sometimes months ahead, so this guide covers what’s included, what’s worth paying for and what our guests book first.
Free, or worth the upgrade
There’s no fee to go ashore, and you can have a great day without spending a thing. These are the extras guests ask us about most. Prices vary by sailing; your advisor can pull yours.

Our guests’ favorites
Coco Beach Club: cabanas & day passes
Extra charge. Overwater cabanas, beach cabanas and day passes are the CocoCay upgrade our guests ask about most. Families with toddlers usually pick a beach cabana so the kids can play in the sand; couples tend to choose the overwater ones.
Thrill Waterpark
Extra charge. The pick for families with kids old enough for the big slides. Larger groups often reserve a waterpark cabana, which includes admission for several guests.
Chill Island & South Beach cabanas
Extra charge (the beaches themselves are free). A quieter, lower-cost way to have shade and a base for the day. Guests with limited mobility often ask for one near the tram, restrooms or the pier. Mention it when you book.
Hideaway Beach
Extra charge. The adults-only choice for guests who want music and a party atmosphere. Some guests who usually book overwater cabanas switch to a Hideaway cabana for a change of pace.
From our founderInside a Coco Beach Club cabana
Coco Beach is the small luxury portion of Coco Cay. They only sell a very limited amount of day passes and cabanas. Of course, if you get a cabana, it includes the day pass as well.
Before you go ashore
- Book as soon as you can. Cabanas and day passes are first come, first served, and the best ones sell out early. Reserve in your cruise planner, or ask your advisor to do it for you. If the price drops or a sale comes along later, you can usually cancel and rebook at the lower price. Just know the cabana you want could sell out in between, so check that it’s still available before you cancel.
- One name, whole party. A cabana is reserved under one guest. The rest of your party just shows up with you on the island and is escorted in. Larger groups may need two cabanas.
- Weather can change the plan. Like any port, CocoCay can be skipped for weather. Royal Caribbean refunds prepaid island purchases when a visit is cancelled.
- Excursions are Royal Caribbean only. Everything on CocoCay is booked through Royal Caribbean; outside tour companies don’t operate here.
- Getting around. A complimentary tram loops the island, and beach wheelchairs are free to use. Coco Beach Club has paved paths, but it’s a walk or tram ride from the pier.
- Traveling with mobility needs? Tell your Harr Travel advisor about your mobility needs when you book. Our accessibility specialist can request the right cabana, rentals and cruise-line support before you sail.
