Celebrity Xcel

Celebrity’s fifth Edge Series ship pairs favorites like the Magic Carpet and The Retreat with spaces you won’t find on her sisters, including Bora, The Bazaar and Celebrity’s first Flagship store. We’ve walked the decks and filmed the rooms, so you can see your room before you book.

The Fifth Edge Series Ship, With Seven New Experiences

Celebrity Xcel joined the fleet in November 2025 as the fifth ship in Celebrity’s Edge Series, after Celebrity Edge, Apex, Beyond and Ascent. She keeps the favorites, including the Magic Carpet, the Rooftop Garden, the adults-only Solarium and The Retreat for suite guests. She also debuts seven new experiences, among them Bora, a Mediterranean rooftop restaurant; The Bazaar, a three-story space that brings each port on board; and Celebrity’s first-ever Flagship store and museum.

Danny calls Xcel a true masterpiece and says Bora may be the best new restaurant in the cruise industry. He walks you through the ship from the pool deck all the way down to Destination Gateway on Deck 2. Watch the full tour below, or jump straight to the part of the ship you care about most.

Celebrity Xcel Highlights

The Pool Club on Celebrity Xcel

The Pool Club

Xcel’s main pool deck centers on a big pool that works for morning laps or just cooling off, with in-water loungers and drink service all around. The Pool Club bar anchors the middle, and most evenings the deck turns into an entertainment zone with a live band. A new pool valet service takes care of the small details, and private cabanas line the side for a Vegas day-club feel. The Mast Grill serves burgers, hot dogs and fries nearby.

Magic Carpet

The Magic Carpet is a platform cantilevered off the side of the ship, and it moves between decks. Its job changes with its position. On the upper decks it’s a bar with lounge seating and sofas. On Deck 5 it becomes a specialty dining spot. On tender days it drops to Deck 2 and becomes a comfortable boarding platform with a full bar, something you’ll only find on Celebrity’s Edge Series ships.

Danny's tip: “When the Magic Carpet is down on Deck 5 for dinner on the edge, I don't want you to miss it. It's a really incredible specialty experience.”

Sunset Bar & Rooftop Garden on Celebrity Xcel

Sunset Bar & Rooftop Garden

All the way aft, the Moroccan-themed Sunset Bar has seating wrapped around the stern, plus step-down seats on the sides that face straight out over the wake. Up top, the Rooftop Garden is filled with live plants and has lounge seating in sun or shade, a pickleball court and a large LED screen for movies and parties. New on Xcel are two plunge pools off the side of the ship. Camp at Sea brings kids up here for activities too.

Danny's tip: “The aft of the ship is always my favorite spot. That wake in the distance makes my heart happy, and it's never better than with a martini at the Sunset Bar.”

The Retreat

The Retreat is Celebrity’s ship-within-a-ship for guests in full suites. The Retreat Sundeck spans two decks up forward, with a pool, bird’s nest loungers, hot tubs, cabanas and daybeds, its own bar, and a lunch restaurant open from about 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In the Retreat Lounge, a concierge handles keys, excursions and dining, so you can skip the front desk. Luminae serves an upgraded breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Danny's tip: “On the Retreat Sundeck I go for the Luminae Burger or the lobster roll. They even had sunglasses for me when I forgot mine.”

The Retreat on Celebrity Xcel
The Spa on Celebrity Xcel

The Spa

Xcel has Celebrity’s most expansive spa yet, with a full salon, a gents’ barber shop and treatment rooms for massages, facials and wraps. The SEA Thermal Suite has heated stone loungers, a salt room, a hammam, an aromatherapy steam room and an experience shower. New on Xcel are the Hydra Room, a warm, bubbling hydrotherapy pool, and an outdoor deck up forward. Thermal Suite access comes with AquaClass and some suites, or you can buy a pass.

Danny's tip: “Book your spa treatments early, because they're really popular. My personal favorite is the aromatherapy hot stone massage, especially after a long flight to Europe.”

Grand Plaza & Fine Cut

The Grand Plaza sits right in the center of the ship, like the square of an Italian town. At the Martini Bar, bartenders do flair shows under a chandelier that lights up in the evening, and the dance floor hosts live music and silent discos. Around it are Cafe al Bacio, the World Class Bar with mixology classes, Raw on 5 for sushi and seafood, and Fine Cut Steakhouse, which Danny ranks among the best steak experiences in cruising.

Danny's tip: “At Fine Cut I order the rib eye. And I'll call it: it's the best Caesar salad in the cruise industry.”

The Club on Celebrity Xcel

The Club

The Club is a multi-use venue that’s a nightclub at heart, with a dance floor and stepped lounge seating. At night it hosts production-style shows and interactive theme parties. New on Xcel is the level above, Attic at The Club, a neon-lit games lounge with retro arcade games, darts and more. There’s also a private room you can rent for golf simulator games and other group fun. Danny’s swing needs work, but he had a blast.

Danny's tip: “Make sure you stop by the photo booth in the corner and get your photo taken. It's an absolute must on board.”

Camp at Sea

Camp at Sea is Celebrity’s kids’ program, and it mixes learning with play. Older kids get video game stations, a giant Lite-Brite, ping pong and foosball, plus robotics and arts and crafts. Danny’s daughter learned to program a robot here. Kids from age 3 who are potty-trained have their own space, and counselors take activities out around the ship. Teens head to The Basement, with games, beanbags, a dance floor and a big screen.

Danny's tip: “Stop by on the very first day. They'll give you a tour, answer your questions and set up who can check your kids in and out.”

New, and Only on Xcel

Bora

A Mediterranean rooftop restaurant with an open kitchen and a lively, family-style feel, where the staff might get you singing and waving napkins. It serves brunch by day and dinner at night. Danny dreams about the butter-poached lobster and the fluffy pancakes.

▶ See it · 5:32

The Bazaar

A three-story space with floor-to-ceiling windows and LED walls that brings each destination on board through festivals, music, dancing and local products. It's home to Spice, a build-your-own-bowl café, and Mosaic, a restaurant Danny says to reserve early.

▶ See it · 22:22

Celebrity Flagship

Celebrity's first store and museum at sea. Alongside logo gear and ship models, it shows memorabilia donated by past guests and crew, from 1970s menus to old uniforms, plus an open ship model Danny and his son love.
