The Beach Club at Bimini
Virgin Voyages’ adults-only beach club in the Bahamas, just 50 miles from Miami. Here’s what’s included, what costs extra and how to make the most of a short day ashore.
A beach club, not a theme park
Bimini is a real Bahamian island, not a private island, and The Beach Club is Virgin Voyages’ own slice of it. Think adults-only resort day rather than waterpark: a private beach with hammocks and daybeds, two big lagoon-style pools, a DJ, morning yoga and lunch that’s included, just like on the ship.
Because Virgin sails adults only, there are no kids anywhere at the club. Most of what makes the day good is free. The extras are drinks, a private cabana for shade and a home base, and Shore Things for anyone who wants to see more of Bimini beyond the club.
Free, or worth the upgrade
There’s no fee to go ashore. Anything marked extra charge is booked with the cruise line, and prices vary by sailing; your advisor can pull yours.

The pools & beach
The heart of the club: two lagoon-style pools (about 6,200 and 7,200 square feet) ringed by loungers, umbrellas and daybeds, with a DJ, floats and pool volleyball. Prefer quiet? The beach side has hammocks and loungers a little away from the music. Lunch is included, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.
VIP cabanas
Steps from the sea and the pools, each cabana comes with plush daybeds, a stocked cooler and plenty of shade, which is the main thing you’re paying for on a hot Bahamas afternoon. Cabanas are limited, so reserve ahead. Prices vary by sailing.
Mermaid Hideaway
A vintage-inspired private retreat with a roomy deck, comfy seating and air conditioning for the hottest part of the day. Virgin includes a drink credit, attentive service and bocce and paddle ball setups. A good pick for a small group or a celebration.
Richard’s Retreat
If you’re sailing in a RockStar suite, you have your own VIP area: a private indoor pavilion, an outdoor terrace with a full bar, a private stretch of beach with loungers, umbrellas and daybeds, food service and a dedicated crew.
Before you go ashore
- Book as soon as you can. Cabanas, the Mermaid Hideaway and popular Shore Things are limited. Reserve as soon as you can in the Virgin Voyages app, or ask your advisor to do it for you. If the price drops later, you can usually cancel and rebook at the lower price. Just know it could sell out in between, so check it’s still available before you cancel.
- Drinks aren’t included. Food, soda and water are free, but cocktails, beer and wine are charged to your account. If you have Bar Tab, you can use it here, so this is a great day to spend it.
- Go ashore early for shade. The tram is free and runs every few minutes, so it’s easy to head back to the ship for a break. The best shaded spots go first, though, so if shade matters and you don’t have a cabana, get off the ship early.
- Traveling with mobility needs? Tell your Harr Travel advisor about your mobility needs when you book. Our accessibility specialist can request the right cabana, rentals and cruise-line support before you sail.
