What is the Aqua Slidecoaster Onboard the Brand New Norwegian Aqua?
An in-depth look at the first-of-its-kind-at-sea Aqua Slidecoaster on the brand new Norwegian Aqua- a hybrid water slide and roller coaster!
One of the most anticipate attractions debuting on Norwegian Aqua has, without a doubt, been the Aqua Slidecoaster. Described as a vague “half waterslide, half rollercoaster”, the public was not exactly sure what to expect from this new concept…the first of its kind on a cruise ship. Now that Norwegian Aqua has made her official debut in North America, guests have been able to experience this incredible new ride for themselves, and the votes are in: INCREDIBLE!

Dueling Waterslide
Sitting at the very tip-top of the ship, the Aqua Slidecoaster is a dueling waterslide winding around from port to starboard. Guests can choose to sit single or double on an inflatable raft, which is taken by a conveyor belt into position at the entrance of the ride. Guests riding in the back sit up against a seat, and once the raft is in position, a strong robotic arm is placed at the back of the seat, pushing the raft faster and faster up the ramp and into the mouth of the waterslide.
From here guests will fly through the colorful tube, lit by bright lights and windows, with portions that are darker for the ultimate thrill. The ride begins with a fast pace and slowly turns to a relaxing speed as you twist and turn through the slide tunnel to the finish line. With the dual setup, guests can race each other to see who is fastest..a little friendly competition never hurt anyone!
