South America and Antarctica: The Amazon Is Back
For many travelers, this is the most exciting part of the season. Princess returns to the Amazon River for the first time since 2014, with scenic cruising on the river and a call at Santarém, Brazil, a river town where the blue-green Tapajós meets the muddy Amazon.
In all, the South America program offers 13 departures on 11 itineraries, visiting 38 destinations in 16 countries aboard Majestic Princess and Coral Princess. Signature voyages include:
- 17-day Antarctica & Patagonia voyages
- 15-day Cape Horn & Glaciers of Patagonia sailings
- Amazon River cruising, returning for the first time since 2014
Want to go deeper on land? Princess Cruisetours extend South America voyages to Peru’s Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, or to Iguazú Falls, seen from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides.
Princess sails to Antarctica on large ships, so think of it as scenic cruising past glaciers and icebergs rather than landings ashore. It’s a wonderful and comfortable way to see the White Continent. Learn more on our Antarctica cruises and South America cruises pages.
New: 64-Day Circle South America
New for the season, Coral Princess sails a 64-day Circle South America voyage that circles the entire continent. It combines Antarctica, the Amazon River, and a transit of the historic Panama Canal locks in a single trip. It’s a rare chance to see the continent’s great highlights in one unhurried voyage.

Coral Princess sails the 64-day Circle South America voyage, including a transit of the historic Panama Canal locks.
Panama Canal: Ocean to Ocean
The Panama Canal season features 12 departures on nine itineraries of 16 to 20 days. Five ships sail it: Coral Princess, Crown Princess, Island Princess, Ruby Princess, and Star Princess. These are full ocean-to-ocean transits, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific through either the historic locks or the newer, larger Neopanamax locks, with calls in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean along the way.
Caribbean: Five Homeports and Three Private Destinations
The Caribbean is the heart of the season, with 141 departures on 49 itineraries from five to 17 days. You can sail from Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, San Juan, New York, and Barbados to 24 destinations across 20 islands, including St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Cozumel, Puerto Rico, and the ABC Islands. Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, and Curaçao are part of Princess’ More Ashore program, with extra time in port.
Many Caribbean itineraries also include a day at one of three private destinations:
- Celebration Key, The Bahamas: beaches, freshwater lagoons, swim-up bars, family activities, and adults-only retreats
- Isla Tropicale, Roatán, Honduras: snorkeling on coral reefs, white-sand beaches, tropical gardens, and local flavors
- RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas: soft-sand beaches, private cabanas, kayaking, and horseback riding in the ocean
Canada and New England: A Brand-New Island Call
Seventeen departures on Regal Princess and Caribbean Princess explore New England, Atlantic Canada, and the St. Lawrence River on five itineraries from seven to 14 days. New for 2028 is Îles de la Madeleine, an island destination in the Gulf of St. Lawrence known for its red sandstone cliffs and Acadian culture. Seven Classic Canada & New England voyages also include an overnight in Quebec City. See our Canada and New England cruises page for more.
Hawaii: Roundtrip From Vancouver Returns
Fourteen Hawaii departures visit Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii Island, and every voyage includes a late-night stay in Honolulu. You can sail roundtrip from Los Angeles or San Francisco, and roundtrip from Vancouver returns for 2028–2029. That’s welcome news for travelers in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
Mexico and the California Coast
Princess offers 35 Mexico departures from Los Angeles and San Francisco, with seven- to 11-day voyages to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, and La Paz. Every 10-day Baja Peninsula & Sea of Cortez sailing includes an overnight in Cabo San Lucas.
Closer to home, 18 California Coast departures of four to seven days sail from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Vancouver, with late-night stays in San Diego, San Francisco, and Victoria. Across the season, there are more than 50 chances to sail beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.
More Time Ashore
Throughout the Americas, Princess’ More Ashore program adds late-night and overnight stays so you can enjoy a destination’s food, culture, and nightlife after dark. Highlights include overnights in Quebec City and Cabo San Lucas, extended time in Honolulu, and late-night or overnight calls in Aruba, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Lima.

Our Take
The Amazon’s return and the 64-day Circle South America are the standouts here. Long, once-in-a-lifetime voyages like these tend to have limited departures, and the best staterooms go early. If South America, Antarctica, or a full Panama Canal transit is on your list, now is a great time to start planning. The same goes for Hawaii from Vancouver and the new Îles de la Madeleine call, both of which add fresh options for travelers who have sailed these regions before.
