We Toured Utopia of the Seas’ Brand New Solarium Suites – Our Honest Thoughts & Review
Out honest thoughts and review on the brand new Solarium Suites on Royal Caribbean's 6th Oasis Class ship- Utopia of the Seas!
Solarium Suites on Utopia of the Seas
Utopia of the Seas has made her triumphant debut, taking guests on weekend cruises to the Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida. This beautiful new ship offers many incredible new features and venues we have not seen before, including the brand new Solarium Suites.
There are 2 Solarium Suites onboard, sitting forward, just above the bridge wings on either side of the ship. There are immaculate 280 degree views out the aft, side, and front- the same views as the captain, and most certainly the best in the house! This one bedroom space sleeps up to 4 people comfortably, and offers an elevated and modern design that is perfectly built around the unique shape of the suite.
Living, Dining, and Bedroom
The Solarium Suite offers a spacious living and dining room with views out the side/aft. You will find a large flat-screen tv facing the oversize sofa in the middle of the room- the perfect place for movie nights, or to watch the big game! There is also a powder room, and wet bar by the door; perfect for guests.
Just beyond the living room is the main bedroom, with a huge king size bed, writing desk, and a walk-in closet. You also have a spacious main bathroom with a dual vanity, water closet, and huge shower with Swiss shower jets and a rainfall shower head- the ultimate spa experience right in your own suite!
Standout Features
We had the privilege of seeing this stunning Star Class suite in person before the inaugural sailing, and we were blown away. Here are a few standout features that we fell in love with:
A PANORAMIC SUITE WITH FRESH AIR? | You heard that right, even though this is considered a panoramic suite with no step-out balcony, Royal has included the very popular Infinite View Balcony, so guests can enjoy the fresh ocean air while inside the suite. The Infinite View Balcony is a window that opens up at the top, allowing for an indoor/outdoor feel, without having a traditional balcony. This is something we have never seen in a panoramic-style room before, and certainly is a game-changer!
EASY ACCESS | These suites are just a few steps away from the ever-popular adults-only Solarium. This peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship offers a pool, hot tubs, a bar, plenty of loungers and day-beds, as well as the beloved Solarium Bistro where you can enjoy a quick bite throughout the day. Having this kind of relaxation space so close is a huge bonus.
PARTY, PARTY, PARTY! | This is one of the most perfect spaces for hosting private parties and get-togethers with your friends and family. There is plenty of room to spread out in the living space, and just behind a sliding door on the wall is a wet-bar and butlers pantry. There is also a separate powder room by the front door, so guests won’t have to walk through the bedroom space to utilize the bathroom. And of course, because you are in a Star Class suite, your Royal Genie can help you plan any parties or get-togethers you desire!
A BED WITH A VIEW | The bedroom is in the most private location, at the very forward of the suite, and sports the same incredible floor-to-ceiling windows- your very own peaceful sanctuary. The bed is positioned facing the windows directly, so you can wake up to breathtaking ocean views each and every morning.
