The Experience
Enjoy a superb Kaiseki-style dinner while experiencing a traditional geisha performance that offers deep insights into Japanese culture. Kaiseki cuisine is renowned for its meticulous preparation and beautiful presentation, with each course being a work of art that harmonizes textures, flavors, and colors. Originally simple and vegetarian, Kaiseki meals later evolved into elaborate affairs.
The geisha performance will complement the dinner perfectly, featuring entertainers in colorful kimonos who sing, dance, and play traditional instruments like the Japanese lute. Geishas, skilled in various arts including poetry and calligraphy, were once abundant in Japan, with about 80,000 in the 1920s. Today, there may be as few as a thousand, making this performance a rare and special treat.
Highlights
- Dine on a Keiseki-style dinner whose presentation will be as extraordinary as its taste.
- Watch a performance of geishas singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.
- Appreciate the geishas’ talents, which may also include writing poetry and calligraphy.
