Norwegian Cruise Line to Reclassify All Spa Suites
NCL is reclassifying all Spa Suite and Staterooms, a move that offers more affordable options, and free up more weekly Thermal Suite passes.
In an unexpected move, NCL announced it will be reclassifying all Spa Suite and Spa Stateroom categories aboard their ships. This includes Haven Spa Suites (H9), Spa Club Balconies (M9), and Spa Balconies (B9) – all of which will be recategorized as traditional Suites, Club Balconies, and Balcony staterooms, respectively.
Benefits of Recategorization
While unexpected, the benefits of this recategorization are huge for all guests onboard. By removing the Spa category, this makes available more weekly Thermal Suite passes than before ever before! Guests in any suite or stateroom category now have a better chance at reserving the Thermal Suite passes at the Mandara Spa, an item that can sell out quickly onboard Norwegian ships. With more passes available, this means more access for guests, and more relaxation time while onboard.

Changes Take Effect
The changes are set to take effect January 1, 2024. For guests who have pre-existing reservations for H9, M9, or B9 cabins, the spa access remains. While in January all pre-existing bookings in these categories will update to reflect the new room classifications, those guests will retain access to the Thermal Suite at the Mandara Spa.
Guest’s looking to change their booking to take advantage of the new price drop due to the recategorization can do so with the understanding that their spa access will be invalidated.
In the end, with more access to the Thermal Suite, and more affordable cabin options than before, the changes are sure to make a lot of NCL fan’s happy and ready to cruise!
