The 4 Best Romantic Date Spots on Icon of the Seas
A look at the 4 best romantic date spots onboard Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas. From the Overlook Pods, to the new Empire Supper Club.
When Icon of the Seas made her debut in January, the world was captivated by her sheer size and incredible onboard features. She has attracted customers from every age and life stage demographic, all looking for an incredible vacation onboard the largest cruise ship in the world.
Many couples have chosen Icon for their romantic getaways, but with a ship that holds upwards of 7,500 passengers and 3,000 crew, you might wonder if there are any intimate spaces onboard where you and your partner can focus on one another, and tune out the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship.
After spending a good amount of time onboard this beautiful vessel, we can tell you that there are many spots onboard for a romantic date night, relaxing hangout, and peaceful time that you and your partner can spend together that provide a sense of seclusion from your fellow passengers onboard the cruise.

The Overlook Pods
Located in the brand new AquaDome neighborhood, the Overlook Pods are an innovative concept give guests a more private lounge experience with incredible views. Each pod is set on different levels, some only accessible by stairs, making them feel very exclusive. Inside the pod is comfortable booth-style lounge seating and cocktail tables.
You can grab a drink at the nearby Overlook Bar and take it up into the pod to enjoy a private escape – just you and your partner. The pods are available on a first-come-first serve basis, and have no additional charge, making them the perfect spot to enjoy an intimate evening with your partner, cocktails, and some beautiful ocean views.

The Hideaway
While a bit more social of an experience than the intimate Overlook Pods, the Hideaway is a great option for couples that want a more adult poolside vibe. The Hideaway is a brand new adults-only space at the very aft of the ship, and featured tiered lounger-style seating, relaxing hot tubs, a bar, dj to keep the vibes high, and the first ever suspended infinity pool at sea.
Grab a drink at the bar and have a great time dancing and hanging out poolside without kids running all around. To upgrade your experience, the over-the-water daybeds in the pool can be rented for the day, so you and your significant other can enjoy soaking in the sun in the middle of the water as you sip a refreshing drink and enjoy the best views on the ship – by far!

The Empire Supper Club
For the most romantic date night dinner onboard Icon, look no further than the Empire Supper Club. This is another new concept that debuted on Icon, and is an eight-course dining experience, complete with a live jazz band playing throughout the evening, and specialty cocktails with each and every course. This is a chance to dress to the nines, and cozy up at a table for two in the dimly lit space that is reminiscent of an art deco jazz club from the 1920s.

AquaTheater Show
The AquaTheater was made famous on the Oasis Class ships, and has been moved to the new AquaDome neighborhood onboard Icon. This incredible theatrical space offers plenty of seating in a semi-circle around the stage which is made up of a pool and high-dive boards.
This is where you will catch “Aqua Action”, a magical and high-energy production that involves acrobatics, diving, synchronized swimming, and dancing, all centered around the water and incredible lighting. The highlight of the show is a romantic performance that is a dance in the air as two performers spin and twirl together, suspended on wires above the audience.
Grab a drink from the Rye and Bean bar, and a snack from the AquaDome Market, and take a seat at the AquaTheater to catch this incredible performance – the perfect ending to a romantic date-night.
