Utopia of the Seas Will Hold the Title of "The Longest Slide at Sea"
A closer look at the bigger and bolder Ultimate Abyss Dry Slide on Utopia of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's newest Oasis Class ship.
Royal Caribbean introduced the “Longest Dry Slide at Sea” with the Ultimate Abyss Slide on Harmony of the Seas back in 2016, and it has been a staple on the Oasis Class ships ever since. The ride was so popular, Royal has even gone back and added it to previous ships, and will continue to bring it back on future Oasis vessels.
Royal’s 6th Oasis Class ship- Utopia of the Seas- is making her grand debut on July 19th, and will be introducing a bigger and bolder Ultimate Abyss slide than ever before! Utopia will bring back the classic angler fish sculpture with a gaping wide mouth- an intimidating entrance to the slide. The angler fish hangs off the sport court deck at the very aft of the ship, and hovers high over the famous AquaTheater below.

New Features
The slide itself will have a few new features to look out for. At 259 feet in length, Utopia’s slide will be 43 feet longer than the previous Ultimate Abyss slides. She will take guests all the way down to the Boardwalk, 10 stories below, and will feature terrifying twists and turns, 300 LED lights, and new Zoom Booster Rollers for an even faster ride of about 19 seconds.
The best part is that there are 2 side-by-side slides, allowing for a good old fashioned race between fellow passengers, friends, and family! As you pass through the Zoom boosters you will slide past the new transparent racing windows, allowing you to check on the speed of your competitor as you go.
Tallest Dry Slide at Sea
With the additional 43 feet, Royal Caribbean has once again solidified the position of having the tallest dry slide at sea! Utopia is set to bring the thrills on the World’s Biggest Weekend, and the Ultimate Abyss will be a huge part of that!
